What a nice little iron. I love the look of it, which is why I bought it in the first place. Here is my experience: Pros: For a small iron it does the job just the same as those big ones from the store. The steamer is AMAZING! I was afraid the plastic resting pad would melt if I set the iron on it while it was hot, but no! Cons: It takes a while to cool down. I haven’t traveled with it; however, I couldn’t picture myself loading this into my luggage after using. It takes about 15-20mins to fully cool down. At home, once I’m done using it I just put on it’s resting pad and store it away. I don’t have to worry about it cooling down quickly. Heads up: 1. This iron does not rest like regular irons, you have to rest it face down on the ironing board or on it resting pad. Was a bit of an adjustment for me. 2. It comes with a standard length cord that does not roll up. For me, I just wrap the cord around the body of the iron and store it away on its resting pad. UPDATE: 10/22/23 Unfortunately today this iron just completely stopped working. Not sure why. I simply plugged it in as usual and it won't get hot anymore. Im not even going to bother reaching out to the seller because I purchased this back in January 2023. It just not even worth my time and effort. I won't be purchasing this item again. However, I loved this little portable iron. Too bad it gave out the way it did.

The unit features an 8-minute automatic shut-off, which functioned as expected during testing and provides an added layer of operational safety. The 8-foot power cord allows for flexible movement during use, suitable for both upright steaming on hangers and limited flat-surface applications. However, the steamer cannot stand independently; it must rest in its provided base between uses. From a performance standpoint, the YK-2101 is well-suited for quick garment touch-ups, travel use, or refreshing lightly wrinkled fabrics such as cotton blends and polyester. It is less effective on heavy materials or multiple garments in succession, due to its small tank and compact design. Pros: Rapid heat-up time (~30 seconds) Lightweight and travel-friendly Consistent steam output for its size Automatic shut-off after 8 minutes Long 8-foot power cord for ease of use Cons: Limited 5-ounce water tank restricts runtime Cannot stand upright without base support Not intended to replace a standard iron Insufficient for heavy fabrics or extended use Base Stand remains hot for a little while use caution on surfaces as well as storing it away . My Conclusion: The YIKA YK-2101 performed reliably within its design parameters. It is best recommended for short, quick steaming tasks or as a travel companion, rather than as a full replacement for a traditional iron or large-capacity garment steamer.

I like the size of it and it works great.

I no longer use a conventional iron, this thing is awesome! Travels easy takes up minimal space and I just hang my clothes on something from a hanger and steam away, so fast and removes wrinkles easily! I’ve bought this multiple times to have at my business, home and for my son’s rental home in Florida. I highly recommend!

Would not heat up for steam after the first use an expensive mistake I’m disabled or I would return it

Powerful & Compact Design BUT doesn't work for long... I'm writing this review in the hopes that it persuades the manufacturer to go back to the drawing board on the internal mechanisms to address issues that are clearly a frequent consumer experience. This iron stops working at random. And leaks water also seemingly at random as well.. My experience has been that when it is actually working & getting hot that the leaking dissipates once the iron gets hot enough. The steam is powerful when it is actually working. And the compact design is perfect for anyone who needs a traveling iron & steamer. The first time I purchased this item it stopped working within the return window and so I returned it. This time it has stopped working outside of the general return window. And so I'm going to see if I can get a replacement because this is a prevalent issue with this iron. I love this iron when it's working. I wish it was more durable and reliable. To the manufacturer: This design is worth working on! Investigate why it's stops working. Fix it. And re-release this product. It's worth the investment. I haven't found another that has this level of steam/iron & compact design. I will have to keep looking. In the meantime, I'll have to reorder this & hope it lasts longer.

As an interior designer, this iron is such a great find. I can use it on my clothes at home and pop it in my bag to take to client's houses to steam curtains or upholstery. Only cons would be that it runs through water quickly but it's not a huge deal. And there is a design flaw with the cord being on the bottom. You can't set it up like a traditional iron as you are using it. It comes with a little plastic stand but I still haven't figured out if you are supposed to use it to put the hot iron on or if it would melt it or cause an issue. So I have been laying the iron down on it's side on the ironing board to cool and don't go too far away from the iron when I am using it due to this issue. It's still a great iron though and I'm happy with my purchase.
