Incredible Microchip Scanner Worth Every Penny!
The HomeAgain Universal Worldscan Microchip Reader arrived exactly as described. It is one of the best ones I have ever used to scan dogs/cats to check for microchips. There hasn't been a single microchip that this amazing piece of equipment has not been able to pick up. It is very efficient & easy to use. It came with a keyring microchip tester to ensure that it is performing effectively, and it does every time. I highly recommend this scanner. It has an auto-shutoff feature that enables you to prolong battery life. I haven't had to change the battery yet! I can not recommend this product enough, it is a step above the rest!

very good and easy to use unit
It is able to read all my chips with no problems. It works out great on my trips cross country with my pack and show llamas. Several states require you to have one, so an officer can spot check your animals if pulled over.

Working well so far.
Working well so far. Powered up and ready to go when it arrived.I own a small veterinary clinic and read online that this was one of thebest readers on the market. It picks up microchips quickly. I am happy withthe product so far (only have had it a few months).

Until they fix an issue, don't waste uour money
I bought this s anner 4 yrs ago because I run a rescue and do alot of lost dogs and cat trapping. It worked great up until a couple weeks ago. Now it's barely reading chips. The last 3 found dogs I scanned, it came up there was no chip. The vet scanned them and they were chipped. I came home and scanned the dogs I'm fostering. All the dogs have been chipped snd I scanned them when I first got the scanner. Today when I rescanned them, only 1 out of 5 chipped dogs, came up on the scanner. Whats going on with your scanner lately?

I like it and it works really well but I wish ...
I like it and it works really well but I wish it stated which microchip company along with the chip number so you know who to call... it only gives you the number. There are many microchip companies out there.

Works fine - reads AVID and ISO no problem
Works fine, as advertised. Reads the AVID (from Hong Kong) and the ISO (from India) microchips in our cats. I understand from external reviews that the screen won't last long, and that after a year or so it will be difficult to read, but pressing down on the screen will help make the readout legible.

PICKS UP THE NEWER ISO CHIPS - which older scanners might not "see"
Bought this for a rescue. Some people don't know yet that some of the older scanners don't pick up the ISO chips. So, a dog chipped with the ISO chips can be scanned by an older scanner and will look like they aren't chipped. It's important to update your scanners. (I found this information in the product information details for ISO chips when checking out prices for ISO chips in bulk - you can look this up yourself by doing a search and looking at the ISO chips for sale - some product pages provide this info.)

Broken. Did not Last! Stopped Scanning After 3 Years
I bought this in 2016. Suddenly, it stopped working. For an expensive item made in USA, I'm very disappointed. It powers up and says scanning but it can't read microchips anymore. I want to clear the memory, but it didn't come with the cable to connect to computer and the manual mentions it, but the cable is not found anywhere online so I need to call the manufacturer to find out how to buy this darn cable. Even with the cable and clearing memory, there is a chance it will still remain defective. I will update this and give more stars if the company works with me to get this resolved. I don't mind paying a fee to get it fixed. The good news is that we have scanned over 100 stray animals and made many worried pet families happy. However, I expected this made in USA scanner to be functioning after 3 years. The warranty is only one year and I can see why now. There's no reason why the manufacturer shouldn't offer a warranty of at least 5 years given the cost of this unit. Hopefully the manufacturer fix or replace. I'll edit this with an update as soon as I make some calls. UPDATE: I called the manufacturer and it’s non-repairable. They tried to push the sale of a new model. I’m so disgusted with this company.
