Warning: Your cat will live to be old and cranky if you feed them good quality food.
Pros: If you love your cat, and want them to live a long time, this is the food my vet recommends, and from my personal experience, my cat is 16 and still healthy. At 10 years old, my vet suggested moving my demon fluff ball of fury, to senior pro plan and adding in 2 cans of wet food, as cats are notorious for not drinking enough.Due to Stockholm syndrome (with me being the victim, as she treats me like crap, but I still love her an insane amount, for reasons unknown, to even me), I obliged and took on the hefty price tag.As years have gone by, my spawn of demons has remained healthy, without so much as a bladder infection. She just turned 16 years old last month, and at her yearly check up, all came back great. She is as healthy as a kitten (with arthritis…because she’s old…but all organs are functioning fully and properly).Does feeding her two cans of this a day, plus keeping the senior pro plan dry food down at all times, make it where it costs more to feed her, than me?Yeah, especially since the pallets of wet food have jumped up almost $20+ more EACH the last 6 years. And every few months I need 3, since they only have 24 cans and two won’t cover a month.Cons: Your cat will live to a ripe, old age and old cats are EXPENSIVE!Yeah, this food will set you back a pretty penny, but the vet bills get higher and higher every year too! This year, with all the tests and bloodwork, her yearly exam came out to just under $800.The lil psycho, blind cat I rescued a few years ago cost me $150 for his yearly and yes, they see the same vet.Demon spawn is also mouthy as all get out when it’s time for her canned food to be dropped. She starts singing the shrieking loud, song of her people, about two hours beforehand and somehow has never lost her voice (must be the hydration from the canned food that the vet talked about, lubricating her bullhorn voice box, I guess). Unfortunately, since I drop the first can between 6-7am, she starts yowling as early as 4am…Even with these cons, does she still have senior pro plan dry food down throughout the day and is she supplied with a can in the morning and another in the evening?ABSOLUTELY!Because for 16 years this fluff has terrorized my life, and I am hoping that she will get to continue her reign of terror for many years to come.Edit to add: She is now a few months over 17 years old and last month she had her egregiously expensive vet visit. She’s still just as healthy as can be (minus arthritis, which she is now getting an $80 monthly shot for, so add that to the expense of having a geriatric cat). So, she is still around and still terrorizing my family. Added a second photo that is more recent of my fluff all of fury.

Kitties love the taste!
This selection of the grain free senior is perfect for my 8 y/o boy and 7 year old boy. My kitten gets some bites of it too, as they all play musical bowls after they’re done eating what they want. 🙄 they really love the chicken and the turkey flavors! Good ingredients and great for their coat and joints too-from the omegas. This is the best option at a reasonable price. It’s crazy that some of the big brands (like…Royal canin & hills science) still have carageenan in it! And also wheat gluten! Yuck! My oldest boy here is allergic to grain, so I just give all 3 kitties grain free. It’s much easier. I give all my cats wet food exclusively, with kibble for snacks to clean those teeth.

Good nitrition
My senior cat, 18 with hyper thyroid, will eat this pro plan diet although rejects much other food by the same company. He will readily eat this pro plan as well as the Purina senior 7+ chicken cat food with gravy. He doubtless wishes for an “all gravy” meal:)

Got a great deal on this brand
I've already been buying this wet food for my kitties at the local pet store. You end up saving about .40 cents per can. I recommend it. My senior kitties really love the tatse of this brand, seems to be of comparable quality and ingredients to their regular hills brand 7+ years wet food, which they do not like very much.
