Worked beyond my imagination
Got this to try and revive a pair of shoes that had become so faded and gross that I didn’t want to wear them anymoreAnd oh my goodness, they turned out so much better than expected. The soles of the shoes also turned a little blue but that’s my fault because of bad prep, but hey for someone who had never dyed anything before I think they turned out pretty good. Little bit of magic erasers and acetone and the soles looked a lot better in the end. Another bonus is there was no undesirable smell during or after Followed their directions online, super easy process. Didn’t accidentally stain anything outside of the shoe. And I didn’t even use the whole bottle so I can do something else later which is awesome! It’s been about 2 months and the dye hasn’t shown any signs of fading, and these shoes see almost daily wear. 10/10 would buy again

Not just for clothes!
RIT DYE not just for clothes! I recently found out that you can use RIT DYE to dye wood. I purchased plain wood beads in bulk, like 4800 lol, cheaper then a strand. I love making stretchy bracelets and sell them at craft fairs. I have many people asking for unisex or mens bracelets. I bought the beads and dye and rushed to get home to try this after they arrived. The most fun I have had in weeks! I added some dye in a plastic container from the dollar store with some warm water and let them soak and stir them frequently for about 5 min. I did buy the brown and the gray, I dyed them separately and they look identical. So if you are using this for wood beads just buy the brown.

Rit Dye gave me the color I really wanted and couldn't find anywhere else.
I wanted a sweatshirt in a light turquoise and none in that color were available anywhere. I decided to take a try at fabric dying. It turned out to be pretty easy. A bit messy but the end result was worth it. The bottle of Rit, when mixed with water, made enough that I also did a couple of white towels and washcloths. Preparing by having the area where you'll be working is really important. This is permanent color so splatter and spills are to be avoided.. Also, have something you can use for stirring the garment into the dye that won't absorb color. The longer it sits in the dye the deeper the color, but will dry lighter than it looks wet. Overall this was a fun project and I will do it again. I found out you can mix colors too but that will have to wait for another time.

Follow instructions for 100% cotton jumper, color came out very light
Overall it’s a good product, I’m not sure about the color accuracy though…maybe there’s a trick to make it darker I don’t know about. I used a whole bottle of this stuff (in Cocoa Brown) on a white Levi’s jumpsuit (100% cotton) and a cotton shirt. During the dying process, it was a deep warm, reddish brown and absolutely gorgeous, stirred it for about 12 minutes. I used the Color Stay product afterwards. Followed instructions to a t for both the dye and the color stay, yet it still turned out more of a dark pink / light maroon after washing. I still like it, but it’s definitely not deep brown.

Love Rit
I have been dying things for yrs- much to my family's hatred of me using the washer but I clean it well after and try to do it behind their backs. Anyways- never had a problem w rit. LOVE IT. I always get the color I want and sometimes mix colors.

Works wonderfully
Color came out a little more vibrant than I had originally thought but I love it! Easily washes. Helped me give new life to old clothes.

Dying shoes to match my dress
This was the perfect color to dye a pair offshore ton match my dress… but because of the material the shoes were made of I had to put it on and let it dry… no rinsing… then it was perfect
