ORACAL Oramask 813 Stencil Vinyl for Painting, Airbrushing & Crafting (12" x 6ft)

Great for stencils. I know it's not made for canvas, but it was perfect for a multi-layered art project. While this material doesn't stick really well to canvas (as expected), it was perfect for cutting out with my Cricut to create my landscape painting. I had plenty for my 24x36 canvas, with enough to fix a few mistakes. It sticks pretty well and leaves no residue. If using on a textured surface, I recommend taking care with the edges - you just need to be a little more aware than with a flat surface.

So let me start by saying I love this vinyl.. for the most part. My only complaint is it’s a little inconsistent. I have bought multiple rolls. The stickiness varies. For the most part it was perfect. I used this to do stencils when painting a hockey helmet and the first roll they all stuck down perfectly and was easily removed. Then used the second roll. It stuck down nice, but when I tried to remove it the problems started. It stuck a little too well. Was difficult to remove and paint was sticking to it. I had to literally stick it to my shirt a few times and dull down the adhesive and then it worked perfectly. It was the only roll I had that issue with. Other than that, the only issues I ran into was the cutting process. I used this to do small letter stencils on a metal license plate. I cut it with my cricut. Some of the smaller details did not cut well or fell out, also there was a lot of lifting during the cutting process. The vinyl would bubble up around the cut lines. After having to recut a couple times, I made sure to stay vigilante and would just gently press down any air bubbles so it cut correctly and smooth. While it does take a little finessing overall this is a great product just takes a little patience.

This stuff is so neat. It’s a blue transparent thick floppy plastic that my cameo just cut the greatest stencils ever to make up wood signs. It adheres to the wood and it worked great with my spray paint. However if you’re in a hurry and stick it on not dry paint it will lift up the undercoat. It’s sticky yet not too sticky! I bought a spray adhesive to add when I needed it to adhere closer. My oracle 651 I was using as a stencil was too adhesive and this was amazing compared to that!

After I bought my Silhouette cutting machine, this was my very next purchase. Since I was new to the game, I didn't really know what to expect. It came rolled up and was full of lumps and bubbles. Had I had a bit more experience, I probably would have returned it immediately. The first project I used it for was painting a design on a wooden crate; it turned out terrible as the backing didn't stick well to wood. My next project, I spray painted a design on glass; the film was worked decently on that project, although there was a few corners and curves that the stencil didn't stick well and it allowed the spray paint to seep under the film. My next and final project was using etching cream on a glass drinking cup; the results were terrible. The stencil barely stuck well enough to paint on the etching cream; none of the edges would lay flat and the etching cream seeped under the film and ultimately I was left with a giant etched blob instead of the design I wanted. I tossed the remaining roll away. Not only did I waste money on the actual Oracal Film, but I also wasted a drinking glass and a wooden crate.

I used this vinyl with my Cricut Maker to stencil a couple pieces of furniture. The vinyl cut seamlessly and was easily transfered with transfer tape. I used two light coats of paint over stain and had no issues with bleeding. I will definitely purchase more in the future. Updated to add that I much prefer this over the cricut brand stencil vinyl. This vinyl has much better adhesion.

The product is great but on the roll, there can be some issues with it peeling up and leaving a ripple that causes the machine to snag the cut and cause it to fail. Price makes this fail much easier to take as buying this on the roll is a lot more cost effective! I have used this item for stenciling on glass with etching and also for putting on the wall to paint and both turned out terrific! I have only had 1 or 2 instances with a bleed through and that was user error and on me, not the product. Worth every dime!

Exceptional mask, Stencil material. Weeds and cuts well. Easy to remove and I have (SO FAR) had no issues with bleeding underneath the material. I do however make sure I am firmly applying it. This is a something I always have in my craft room.

Great value! Just what I was looking for. The adhesive side makes project stencilling a lot easier and gives a better finished look! Taping a stencil on the outside edges does nothing for the middle areas and sometimes there is “bleeding” which is very frustrating, especially on wood signs/projects. The stencil adhered perfect to the wood and I was very pleased with the cut/weeding of this product. Easy peasy! I will definitely be using this as my go to product for any future stencil projects❤️
