In thoughtful and insightful language he reveals ways to balance the noise and confusion that infiltrate much of our day by carving out a little time for ourselves, virtually every day. There is something rejuvenating about having some time to do what you love. Whether it’s meditation or yoga, spending time in nature, writing books, playing music, exercise, an hour a day for yourself is a vital part of life. Simple, practical and actionable advice to make you more effective in life.
I read this book in about an hour, as promised by the author, and found it chock-full of fun stories and tips on how to further my goals in life. I think that anyone, no matter how over or under-accomplished, can profit from incorporating the power of an hour a day into their routine. I used the “Life Time Questionnaire” at the end of the book to figure out what daily activity to undertake, and the “Life Lines” form to keep track of my progress. So far, so good! Recommended for all procrastinators, and/or folks who could use a productivity boost.

JUMP!
A Review by David StockJUMP! If you’re the type of person who really wants to jump out of an airplane, read on. Yes, you may be the type; however, when the moment arrives you just can’t jump. This book, THE POWER OF AN HOUR A DAY, by Timothy Woodruff, is for you. Woodruff teaches us, step by step, and with graphs and statistics to back himself up, how to finally make the plunge that had been for so long filed away in the back of your mind. The author convinces us: if you don’t deserve an hour a day for yourself, for that book, that composition, that painting, that poem, or, that brilliant idea for a new company, WHO DOES? He laces his book with fascinating stories of a past life as an Amazon guide. By the sheer knock-out punch of this book we cannot help but be convinced that one single hour a day, removed from a daily life that might be hectic, can really change things. Not only is the book fascinating, capable of changing your life, but also….well, it was written in that “HOUR” that the author has rescued from oblivion. Read it. It will get you on track.
