LG WH14NS40 14X Blu-ray BDXL DVD CD Internal Burner Drive Bundle with Free 100GB M-DISC BDXL + SATA Cable + Mounting Screws

Burned my first 100gb M-Disk with no problem. Appears to be working quite well, so far. My average 50gb BDs takes about 30 mins storing data files. Faster than I expected at around 4-6x speeds.

I ordered this as a spare so I have not used it and may not for some time. I have one in servive already and it works well.

Did not have a user manual. Other than that, happy.

I've been using this for years and it does a great job. Reads and writes everything, very reliable. A few nice details that won't show up officially - This is the exact same hardware as the now discontinued WH16NS60. The difference is only in firmware, and it can be cross-flashed. Making it compatible with UHD. It also has LibreDrive support. It can also read (but not decrypt) PS3 and PS4 discs (haven't tested PS5), which most drives can't read at all. Nice if you want to play original PS3 discs on an emulator. A few things you do need to consider though: - It can't set the book type of DVD+R(W) discs. That's only an issue if you need compatibility with ancient DVD players that typically don't read burned discs at all. This is the only reason I don't give it a perfect score. - Being an internal drive, it naturally requires a free 5.25'' bay, which many new computers don't have anymore. If you have one of those, you should probably get an external USB drive instead.

First one was not working correctly. Would burn 2/3 of the way and then freeze and stop including the program I used. Had a replacement sent and this one works like it should. Have bought them before, first time I've had issues with any of them in 12 years.

I've always wanted a Blueray Burner. So I purchased the LG Blueray and it works just great! And the price isn't bad at all!

You need to turn the volume up extra loud to hear the movie over top of the noise this drive makes. It is mostly unusable due to the noise level it produces.

I use this Product all the Time, for watching DvD's, Blu-rays, etc...

I have three LG drives and have never had a problem with them. They are reliable and reasonably priced. The only problem I have is not with the drive, but with the packaging it arrived in. The drive was in a little plastic bag, in a small box just large enough to house the drive and the disc that came with it. The flap on the box was not taped closed, so I was able to open the package with a single finger. It is just dumb luck that the drive didn't fall out of the box during shipping as it traveled across international borders and half way around Canada to get to me. Please, tape the box flap before shipping. Note: The manufacturing date on the drive was March 2025, so it's not some close-out item from a company that has quit making them. I like the idea of supporting a company that hasn't given up on optical.
