Information Security Management Principles

Great book and easy read. Nicely simply broken down. Great for the cismp exam. I started working on this on 9th June and took the exam on 25th June. I self taught and did a chapter a night . There is passed questions in the book although none of them came up in the exam. I got 76/100. The exam is very much principles although a lot on network side of things. Technical. It will get you through the exam and I haven't even got a it background although I know a little bit.

This is very concise and clear presentation of the principles of Information Security Management. Very useful self-study for IT Managers and for professionals preparing towards the British Computer Society's Certificate in Information Security Management Principles.

Great book if you are studying for the BCS CISMP exam. I passed the exam using this book only. An ideal introduction to information security and the related ISO standards.If you have no IT background and intend to take the exam, I would advise concentrating your efforts on the technical aspects of the book and potentially reading some of the further reading suggested in the book. I had a small number of questions around bits which i didnt recall reading in the book.

The product was in the form promised. It just took so long to get to me. Thanks.

So I passed the exam by only using the book as study material. I did not attend the course or use any other exam preparation and read it cover to cover twice.However, I have hands on Info sec experience and other certifications under my belt. I decided to take this exam as I thought it would be straightforward (and it was) but I was surprised by how many questions came up which WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE BOOK.I had 10+ years of IT Infrastructure experience before switching over to Information Security. In my opinion, if you are new to the subject the book itself will not be enough to pass the exam. Its a good reference guide to point you in the direction of topics...not a deep diveAs others have suggested, you should use other sources to pass and ideally attend the course.
