Dependable, Energy Efficient, Quiet, and Affordable
Bought this to replace the power supply in my older HP desktop when I wanted to upgrade the graphics card. The new graphics card (a GeForce) needed more power than the old power supply and motherboard could handle. I did some shopping around and decided on this one. It had the wattage, amperage, and the 2 PCI-E Power Connectors that the graphics card needed and was easy to install. The Corsair name has always been synonymous with quality. I have been using their products for years, and have always been happy with the quality and performance. So far, I have never had anything breakdown or go bad, even long after the warranty has expired. This one has been running 24/7 for 5 months now, and is as quiet and stays as cool as the day it was installed. This is my first 80 plus Bronze power supply, and I have to say the power savings is nice. I'm running 2 other older PC's that are on 24/7 (they run scientific calculations), and I'm thinking on getting 2 more of these just to make them more Green. I don't need 500 Watts of power for them, so will probably go with the 430 Watt supplies to save even more energy and thus money

Great Upgrade!
Easy to Install - worked as promised - very quite once I had it in and running. It took me a little under an hour to pop the old unit out - clean up all connections and mother board - then pop this bad boy in. I took pics with my phone of all connects to help me realize what needed to align with what and what connectors went where. I am not a pro at this and I was nervous - my first time changing out a power supply actually - but it all went smoothly and the product is great. The computer issue I was having (graphics card/constant running fan) where the computer would just power off after grinding a loud fan noise for a while-was fixed with this upgrade. I had upgraded my video card and I believe after reading blogs and posts on the Net the power supply was over working and going bad. Factory power Supply is never enough for upgraded video cards. Very Happy with this company and this product. 3/9/2014 - I bought a second one to upgrade my son's computer - his computer was completely different than mine - but still same easy switch out as with mine. Both computers run cooler and quieter! Do not be afraid of this install - this product is universal and easy to install. Like I said before, I used my phone to take pictures and video of the inside connections of the existing power supply - then disconnected & removed old unit and put this new one in. You will be surprised at how easy it is and it is a great product from a good company.

Corsair CX 500 Power Supply
I spent a long time researching power supplies, as they are one of the more important parts of a build. They are the foundation to the theoretical house, and when building one, you want the foundation to be stable, not cheap and flimsy. This supply was perfect in price, performance, and ease of use. The sleeved cables make cable management much easier, and it fit great in my Cooler Master Storm Scout. I also liked the adaptability of the connectors, such as the 8 pin CPU power plug, which splits into 2 four pin adapters. The fan is quiet and keeps the unit cool, even though I mounted it upside down.To conclude, this was the perfect supply for my upgrading, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great, reliable power supply. My current Rig (being upgraded): PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX500) CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 645 @ 3.1 GHz GPU nVIDIA GeForce GT 610 (upgrading to dual Radeon HD's sometime in the future) RAM: 4 GB Kingston Your basic 500 GB hard drive Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout A very generic mATX motherboard (soon to be upgraded)

works great
I have been using this for a few months and so far no issues. It makes pretty much no noise which is a plus. It has LOTS of cable attachments for it, which is probably my only complaint. After some review I would probably not purchase this as it has so many cables that are not removable, so if I could do it again I would buy a power source that was modular. This isn't a big deal as I just have the extra cables tucked in my case but like I said this is not what I would prefer. It is a great power supply though and has been running non-stop for months with no problems, installation was super quick and fit with the holes already in my computer. If you don't mind a few extra cables in your case or need all the cables it comes with then this would be a perfect power supply.

Se instala fácil, y los cables vienen enmallados, lo cual le da mejor vista a la computadora por dentro. Solo faltaría que los cables de 24 pines fueran negros. Soporta hasta una 1060 con la de 400w.

I used the Corsair CX500 500W 80 Plus Bronze PSU in a friend’s budget build, and it’s been holding up really well. It delivers steady power and hasn’t had any issues, even with moderate usage. For the price, it’s a reliable choice, and the 80 Plus Bronze rating adds some peace of mind about efficiency. Definitely a good option if you’re looking to keep costs down without sacrificing quality.
