Q: would a 10.5 running shoe size be medium or large for these socks?

I am mens 9.5 Brooks GTS and have these socks in Medium but others same sock but different colors I have in Large. Large is better because washing may shrink a little. Wash in cold water and low heat or air dry. Size 10.5 for you - Large or XL is my recommendation.

Medium. If u wash lightly. They will always snug up.

I purchased size small socks and my shoe size is 6-7. They're the perfect size for me. I have several pairs of these type of socks. I'm guessing size medium would apply for shoe sizes 7-8, so perhaps size large socks would work for you at 9.5? I'd order one pair size large to see if that's correct for you, and also launder them to double-check sizing, before ordering more.
