Fits its purpose and provides a hair pulling challenge
I wanted to upgrade my Fostex T50RP's to balanced inputs given they are pigs for power. Pretty easy to pick a spot to drill a hole in the headphone casing and mount. The hard part was soldering the wires. Because you have to solder with the connector mounted to the headphone cup casing, you are really limited for space. The wires are super tiny and the pins on the connector aren't much bigger. Luckily I have a solder station with selectable temps and I could put a glob of solder on the pins and the wires before trying to finish the connection. This way I didn't burn any of the plastic insulation on the jack itself. You'll need good equipment and technique, but it isn't a fault of the connector, they work just fine. My new balanced input on the T50RP's not only allowed me to use the higher power balanced outputs of my Hiby R3 and R6 Pro, it also opened the sound up a bit more. I also get a strong, locking connection to bypass the notoriously unreliable 3.5mm stereo connector that comes standard. A worthwhile 2 hr project.

Excellent Connectors but It requires Modifications and Skill to solder them.
These are excellent replacement connectors. The main issue is that the solder connections are very small. To connect them to a typical guitar cable a few modifications are necessary. Obviously, they're made for a really thin cable. It's tricky but first, remove and discard that flexible "boot". Then (very carefully) widen the opening of the plastic cap with a drill. Then on the inside chrome part, cut off and discard all but the retaining ring itself. Then cut a slit lengthwise on the little white plastic insulator. It will take some practice but it's possible. If you're using this for a Line 6 unit you're only using 2 connections: #1 is Ground and #3 is hot.
