Brilliant cordless vacuum
I have had several sounds like Mike Tyson before this and the last one was disappointing. Bought this after a lot of research and it’s very good. Collection chamber could be bigger but collects well on all surfaces and the handy charging station is very convenient. Better engineered than Tyson. It’s a KO

Terrible design flaws. Could be so much better.
Update after 8 months - I have finally put this scandalously dreadful thing in the bin. It has packed up up completely and I am only not returning it because I do NOT want to give house room to a replacement. This is the most appalling waste of a large amount of money. Do not buy. The good - it is quiet and powerful in use on carpet - when it works. It seems like a quality build. Goes together well. It cleans rugs and mats really well without attempting to eat them. It does get hairs wrapped around the brush but it mostly ends up in the middle of the brush bar where it’s easier to remove and it doesn’t snarl the workings which is a problem I have had with other brands. I love the light on the front of the brush head and you can really see what you’re doing. Lots of tools. The bad - everything about it is faffy and goes wrong. It comes with a big heavy post that you have to attach it to in order to charge it. It is fiddly to attach the vacuum cleaner to as well. There are fittings on this ugly post that you can hang the half dozen brushes and nozzles it comes with on. But then you have a big, ugly, cumbersome thing and unless you have a utility room or a big cupboard under the stairs with plug sockets in then you are going to have this monstrosity in your living room or kitchen. The instructions are execrable - pale little line drawings that don’t tell you anything you cannot already see. No words. Same manual for several different models. The main brush head fitting does not snap into locked position so it dangles and waggles about as you are carrying it. And you cannot stand it up even if you lean it against something. It is not easy to take apart the tube segments. The extendable pole has to be put back in factory position every time you charge it. The dirt reservoir is very small so you have to empty it every 5 minutes. Emptying it is very messy and it is difficult to get the reservoir back on. Many times I think I have but it falls off again. The filters need constant cleaning and you have to take them out every time you remove the reservoir so you have to get dust everywhere. Even so, most of the time there is a warning light on it saying the filter needs cleaning! It is not good at picking up bits of grit and cat litter off a hard floor. You think it has but then it dumps it all back down again. So you need to go over the hard floor with a broom afterwards. To be fair all this type of cordless vacuum I have tried has similar problems with gritty bits on hard floors. So you end up using a broom, brush, dustpan and the vacuum which is annoying. The tools look good - again- but are fiddly and fragile and break as soon as you put them to their intended use. The price! This has all the hallmarks of so many products that are designed by men for use by women and are not properly tested at a prototype stage. This is inexcusable in something this price and from a supposedly prestige brand. It is all style over substance. If I had paid for this I would be returning it. My other stick vacuum is an unbranded Chinese thing that cost less than a hundred pounds and is much better designed and easier to use, if no more effective. This AEG model battery does not hold a charge any better than the cheap Chinese one.

Makes hoovering easy!
Very convenient and works well. Dust collector very small and a bit fiddly to refit. Brush cleaner device doesn’t really work. These are only minor niggles. Every time I use it I think, glad I bought one of these!

Lovely engineered product, couple of small things I didn't like
I own a Dyson V10 handheld, which is in daily use, I’m obviously going to be comparing the AEG to the Dyson. First thing that is difference is the charging system, similar in how it connects but the AEG has a stand, the stand is fairly big, and when you attach the tools it adds more size, and not the easiest to attach to the stand, the Dyson charge attaches to the wall, which for me is a better option. First impressions are very good, you have a well made, easy to hold handheld cleaner, its well balanced, no real weight in the main body when you’re holding it. Performance is very good, it's powerful when using as a standard vacuum and excellent when using it as a handheld without the arm. The beater brush bar is very effective. I don’t think it is as well thought-out design wise, the cleaner is excellent, but everything felt a little bit clumsy, extending the tubes, having to de-extend the tubes when charging, the bin part that collects the dirt is fairly small, and not as easy to empty. Performance is very similar to the Dyson, as is the price, I do think the V10 is slightly better, seems better on the wooden floors we have, picked up through the gaps in the floor, performance was much of a much when using it as a handheld without the extension, biggest plus is it lasts longer the the Dyson, probably twice the time before it needed another charge. I do like the engineering, it has a quality feel to it, the brushed grey finish is lovely. I do really like this, its performance is very good, I like the tools, its got a great brush bar tool, however, the charger for me is the bit I don’t like, probably because I live in a small cottage where space is a premium. If I was looking to buy, Dyson slightly better performance, AEG has a bit more of a wow to the build.
