Q: Are those side openings show in the picture, open through to the box? I’m afraid of small critters getting in through there.

Im not sure what gap you mean or why your asking, but 've had 2 of these on my patio for 6/7 months with no water getting in. No bugs either... but I do spray around it.

I'm not aware of a cover for the Keter Denali 200 gallon. Not sure why it would be needed, but one could be made by sewing vinyl or canvas to fit. Anyone with a heavy duty sewing machine could make.

Q: Why is the difference between the exterior & interior height 10 inches?

I think they may have mixed up height and width at one point. It seems corrected now, difference between interior and exterior only about 2" for each dimension.
