Purified water. We run one of these in our living/dining area and the other in our bedroom. We use purified water (from our Reverse Osmosis system) in the unit. With any humidifier, using tap water will leave a film on furniture. Output. With the unit in the bedroom running on low, even with the door open, it becomes too humid for me. So I run it on its timer for about 3 hours and then let it shut off. Perfect. In the living and dining area, we run it about 12 hours a day. It helps with the dry desert air. Cleaning. Follow the instructions. Once a month, I clean it with a bleach and water solution. Then soak it with a dash of vinegar in water. I use brushes to wipe it down. I only use RO water to clean it so as to not introduce any other chemicals. Our first unit is about 18 months old and is running just fine. Both units are about 3-4 feet off of the floor. This helps circulate the water vapor.

Can't say anything bad since the humidifier works as should. Just would like to remind those needs to be cleaned religiously especially if you use it next to an infant. Harmful bacteria loves the humidity. Also do not use any chemicals since there have been some heartbreaking cases.

Really quiet with the exception of the gurgle each time the water level drops. I liked the mist displacement as very fine, and directional control.

The humidifier came with a card that said if I filed I would get a warranty extension. When I went online and completed the information requested the screen showed the warranty expiring the same date that I purchased the humidifier! I chatted with the company online and was told that the warranty extension was a promotion and that the promotion had expired. The unit seems quite good but the company doesn't seem to want to stand in back of it. The information that came with the unit said nothing about the warranty being a limited time promotion.

Nice piece working well. A bit inconvenient to fill from bottom of water tank. Hard to clean if you routinely use tap water. Gave 4 stars only because a previously purchased identical unit lasted about two years only.

This is the second one I bought. I moved into a place with a great room so I bought a second humidifier and it is perfect.
