Mystery of the Roman Ransom

My boys loved Detectives in Togas and couldn't wait to read another book by the same author. It didn't disappoint. Great characters and plot development. Reads well out loud.

Nice historical fiction for the early Roman time period. My son (11) and I enjoyed reading it.

I read the first book to my children. They loved it! When I found out there was a sequel, I bought it. My oldest sat down and read it in one day. They thoroughly enjoyed it. I also read it and found it as fun as the first book.

He is an 8 year old that reads non-fiction history all the time. Now he has discovered that fiction and history can be fun to investigate. Too bad there were only two of these books written by Winterfeld about the Roman boys. I got him both of them.

A great read for kids and adults. Wish there were more books in the series. Lots of education "hidden" in a fast-paced and entertaining tale. All of my children, 15, 13, 11, and 9 enjoyed it and I enjoyed reading it to them!

Great sequel to the Detectives in Togas. I read both of the books in junior high, and am so glad to have rediscovered them on Amazon. Great books, very enjoyable.

My kids TOTALLY love this book. It is a great learning tool and is extremely fun for kids.

My son is a big fan of the Romans. My husband had read "Caius ist ein Dumbkopf", the first in this series when he was a child. So I thought I would check it out in English because I wanted to take part in my son's love of all things Romans. My son was captured by both books and I found myself getting into reading them and wanting to see how it ended. It is a very well written child's classic and it will keep parent and child both captivated to find out who did it.

Very exciting! The kids and I enjoyed it a lot!
