Pendaflex Recycled Hanging Folders, Letter Size, Standard Green, 25/BX (81600), Standard Green - No Tabs

Short Review: Poor quality, seems like playing russian roulette to see whether you will get a good Pendaflex product or a terrible quality one.Long Review: It took a lot of online research for me to find out and get to the bottom of this. If you go to Pendaflex's wikipedia page you'll be able to learn a little bit about their corporate history and how the used to be owned by Esselte Corporation. However, the most recent turn of events for them, having been bought by TOPS Products in March of 2014 is only readily apparent if you go to pendaflex's website and to TOPS products own website. This is even more confusing when the Amazon seller known as "Pendaflex" sells different products it has manufactured across it's different owners. In the end, does this matter? Yes, a whole heck of a lot.I got 2 boxes of basic green hanging folders (model # 81602) and 1 box of the 4-color assorted hanging folders (model # 75708), of the EXACT SAME PRODUCT (Pendaflex Essentials Hanging Folders, Letter sized), and the quality between the two couldn't have been more night and day different. The green folders were manufactured in 2011, back when they were owned by Esselte Corporation, and were flimsy, rough, very poor quality stock, the holes where the tabs go started to get ripped on my very first attempt to put a tab in, one of the boxes had the hanging bars bent in about half of the folders. As soon as I opened the box I couldn't believe my eyes. I had an old box of the exact same product that I had bought many years ago (manufactured in 2004) and the folders in that old box were amazing quality, sturdy, smooth, strong. These new folders say made of up to 10% recycled material but it felt as if they had made the folder out of those 6 grade science experiments where you take newspaper, dip it in glue and water, put the newspaper around an inflated balloon and let the newspaper dry and after two days it hardens into something that more or less resembles the intended shape but feels like, well, soiled paper: it would entertain a 6 year old but as a product I intend to put important files in I need something that doesn't come apart by breathing on it (or putting in my very first tab!). How could product quality have declined so much in 7 years?Then the other box (the assorted 4 color model # 75708) was manufactured in 2014, with Pendaflex being owned by TOPS Products (you can see it right on the box). I would give that box a 3-4 star rating. If it hadn't arrived in the same shipment as these horrible green hanging folders, maybe a 4. They were still not as good as my box of 2004 Pendaflex hanging folders, but at least seem like they will get the job done. I already chose to return the 2 green boxes and am keeping the assorted ones.Here's where Amazon is dropping the ball. How can they allow for a seller to pass off this wide array of products as being the same item? The two boxes even have Pendaflex with similar writing but DIFFERENT LOGOS. This is an Amazon Prime product so do they just have a lot of old inventory in their warehouses that they need to get rid of? This is **COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE** of both the seller (Pendaflex) and Amazon. That is why I am giving the product 1 star, for the deception to the consumer when you won't know what you are going to get, an OK, 3-4 star product, or something that resembles recycled newspaper.

I'll admit, I am used to a heavier and better quality hanging folder, but for for my current project, I thought the less expensive hanging files would be sufficient. I was wrong! These are flimsy and appear to be a sub-standard size in that a regular manila file folder doesn't have enough room to sit in the hanging folder and allow for a label to sit in the right position. The worst problem with these, however, is that they stink! I have a sensitivity to odors, but these smell and nothing I've tried will remove (or diminish) that sicking odor . Yes, they were inexpensive, but now I am throwing them out and paying for the quality I am accustomed to. My office, my manila folders and their contents all have that sickening oily kerosene type odor!

These folders are rough, soft and tear easily. Amazon page says made from "10% recycled fiber with 10% post-consumer fiber". Box I received says "100% recycled fiber, 95% post-consumer fiber". That's good if you are into recycling, bad if you want a quality product. I wouldn't expect them to last very long in a file cabinet that sees any use.

The hooks were made of cheap, weak plastic. Would not hold more than a few pieces of paper before the hooks started to sag and it didn't take much more paper to make them completely collapse into the file cabinet. Returned.

Hanging folders that store paper. What else do you need to know about it? It fits standard file cabinets. I use it to store paperwork and it does it's job. I chose Pendaflex over Smead because I already have Pendaflex and because I wanted to stay consistent with what I already own. That's it.

I bought the green ones because they were least expensive and I figured I didn't need fancy colors. Well the green ones don't come with the plastic tabs. There appears to be mixed answers on this. In the product description it says no tabs (my bad) but in the customer questions someone answered that they come with tabs. For past purchases of hanging folders I've always received tabs so this never occurred to me to look. Folders themselves seem to be as expected.

I've used this for about a month now and they seem to be holding up. They fit a standard desk drawer quite well (as seen in picture), but you can always just measure before hand to double check.Pros:- Sturdy, fits well, large count of foldersCons:- Kinda dull color :(

Working from home during this era of COVID-19 I ran out of some of my office supplies. Been working from home since March. Needed some more hanging file folders quickly and at a reasonable price and found these. Amazon has a wide range in colors and everything, but I settled for these since I just needed them for work files. These files are economical and sturdy. The box held 25 which was more than enough and Amazon shipped them super fast!

Received the item today. Very disappointed. Tabs are cheap plastics that shows bending marks easily. I also realized the first and the second product pictures from the seller shows two different products. You can see the colour differences on the inner surfaces of the two product pictures. It also doesn't specify it's made with recycled paper. I am returning the product.

Quality hanging folders. Not cheap flimsy dollar store hanging files. Perfect size for throwing in my Storex portable file box and keeping all my personal paperwork in order. The files folders have slits on both sides for labels. They come with plenty of plastic tabs and paper slips to label and organize your files however you'd like.

its ok not a fan of the color, i gave the same rating on this as i did to my file organizer because the files had a hard time holding up in my box i dont know if the folders was poorly designed or if it was the box itself but the recommended items was not a good match for me this time.

First, the box was in a terrible state when I opened the package. Obvioulsy already opened with scotch on it. The hanging files were all bent and wow, I even got a file from some lawer cabinet and a post it to remind for Matt to email ! Honestly. Returning.

Decent quality for its price. It has sound construction but my primary complaint would be the gluing on the inner fold. It is rather sloppy on one side on all of the folders, but it's a minor inconvenience. Would still buy more.Packaging was good.I would recommend this product.
