For the price this is a good mat, but there are some issues
I ordered this FIPASEN Reptile Heating Mat not because I own reptiles, but because I grow Nepenthes that require tropical conditions. The mat comes in just a cellophane type wrap. No instructions, although it is a case of just placing the mat under the aquarium, terrarium etc., then sticking the 3-pin plug into a socket, and turning the temperature control dial from off, to on. And then wait. Then wait some more. It does take time to get up to temperature. The mat works well, it heats up my terrarium to the desired temperature of 25ºC (the mat can go to higher temperatures, but 25ºC is what I need). There are a couple of negatives. First, the workable space of the mat isn't quite 16.5" by 11", and that is because the power lead unit that is attached to the mat takes up a very small amount of space, but if you are looking for very precise sizing, take that into account. Second, the dial has no indicator arrow or line, so when you turn the dial off, you need to guess where you had it on. I turn the dial off each night, as the Nepenthes need around 10ºC cooler nighttime temperatures than the daytime. However, given this is only £15.99 as of December 2021, I can forgive those minor issues, and only need to deduct 1-star. I can therefore still recommend this to you.

Perfect for setting resin in a cold house.
This heat mat is so very helpful to me. I use epoxy resin to make things but now winter is here the resin was taking ages to set, I don’t have central heating, so my house is pretty cold. I had seen a tip from another artist on using a heat mat, when I had the chance to try this I thought it was worth a try. The mat sits nice and flat, my moulds are totally level on it. The cable is long, so I don’t have to work next to a socket. I left my moulds on the pad over night and the next morning my resin was set perfectly, just like working in summer. Great not to have to work around moulds for days. The quality of the mat is good and when it is not in use it folds up and fits into my craft cupboard. Very happy with the quality of this.

Gentle heat, great for keeping a 3D resin printer warm.
I don't have reptiles. I wanted this to keep my 3D printer warm because it has to live in the shed. I made a little kennel for it out of insulation foam, and stuck the heater mat to the inside. Astonishingly, it works!3D printer resin needs to be above 20 degrees to give best results, and it's a lot colder than that in my shed. The heater mat gives off a gentle heat, so it can't cope with freezing temperatures, but it does keep the temperature inside the printer considerably higher than outside the insulated box.I run it on full power all the time, and it just about gives me enough heat. I'll probably get a second one for the other side, which will keep it toasty. For reference, the gap between the insulation and the metal case of the printer is only about 5mm, and the entire internal volume of the insulated box is about a quarter of a cubic metre. The hole in the side is where the cooling fan for the screen exits. It's really only the top half of the printer that needs to be warm. I've read that some people even put a smaller mat inside the printer, which I might try. This heater mat can comfortably heat a small volume like a 3D printer or my printer hutch - it's about the size of a reptile tank. What it won't do is heat a bigger area. It's not a room heater or a cat mat. It's for heating a small space. There is a temperature control, but it's not a thermostat. It's just a variable resistor, so you do need to keep an eye on it and adjust until it's giving the temperature you want. If I was using it to warm animals or plants, I'd add a temperature controller to turn it on and off. For my purpose, I just leave it on full. Before I built my insulated printer hutch, I was heating the entire shed (which is also insulated with the same foam, so it's not quite as bad as it sounds). A £15 mat has slashed the cost of each print massively.

Versatile heating mat for reptiles- even plants and resins
This heating mat from Fifasen provides a uniform heat and evenly distributed temperature which is enough to provide warmth to your pet.The mat is made from PET materials and has a weight of 200 grams. Its voltage range is 220V up to 240V and has a regulating range 0° to 35°. Its size is approximately 16.5 x 11 inches which is good enough for most terrariums.Furthermore, the mat is designed to prevent overheating so you have to wait at least 30 minutes before you get an accurate temperature reading in the terrarium. This can be installed on the bottom, inside or even side of the terrarium or vivarium to give warmth to your pets. It is not totally waterproof so you should not soak it in water to prevent it from being damaged. Take note that if you accidentally punctured the mat with a sharp object or it became severely deformed, stop using it as this might cause some serious electrical issues and accidents.I let my friend try this with his reptiles and he said that it is working properly. This mat is also great if you have some plants that need to be in a hot or tropical environment. This can also be used as a drying mat for resin crafts especially during the cold season. For a price of £15.99, this is a reasonable price, although there are cheaper alternatives.
