50 Instructional Routines to Develop Content Literacy (Teaching Strategies Series)

Great Ideas
Great ideas with very explicit instructions and examples of how to use the activities in your classes. All the lessons can be adapted for any grade level and content area. Some of the activities are old standards that we have all heard of and tried out, but there are a few in there that were new to me. Of course, I've been teaching for 16 years, and I've seen and done most things (haha!). This could be a great resource for a newer teacher. I did expect more for the high price point, though.

Very good book for differentiated instruction in reading skills
This book is a great resource for teachers of any content area to help studens with lagging reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. It gives the teacher a great array of differential education reading routines to use for any reading situation for any grade/age. Examples of uses are provided to show which content area the particular routine is good for and to show what age/grade range of students it would be appropriate for. Also included is a nice key showing what areas of reading/writing comprehension and skills each routine is good for.
