Installs easy, very nice compass, lot easier to read than old one.

This fit perfectly in the compass holder on our boat. We are very pleased with it.

In my opinion the usable life span of 30 months was extremely short for what I thought to be a quality product. During the 30 months of use I got it worked great. Then the plastic body of the housing that enclosed the compass cracked in multiple places and allowed the liquid to leak out. I removed the compass from my boat to refill and reseal it only to find a label on the bottom stating that the housing was non refillable. There is absolutely no provision for repairing, refilling or maintaining this compass once the liquid is lost. The only thing left for me to do is to through it in the garbage. I don't mind paying a premium price for a premium product but this one seams extremely cheep for the price I paid. It seams that Ritchie is now banking on it's name and reputation of once being a quality product.

I have this mounted on the dash of my truck and it is quite accurate. More accurate than my phone for sure. It also rotates quickly and easily. As I drive around around a corner it follows as fast as I can corner. It comes with a wire to power the light so you have some hassle to get the light function to work. I would rather have a battery and a switch on it. This compass is a good size for a dash and has a little weight to it .Not too big - not too little. It is also quality built. I expect to be using this for another 20 yrs. Note: This is a little more costly, but this is a real compass and works 10 X better than the $10 or $20 cheapo compasses you see all over the internet.

Replaced older compass on my Pro-line 22 walk with this gem. It is very nicely built and looks great next to the Garmin. Had to open the hole up to 4" top of dash with a barrel sander attached to a drill but totally worth the extra effort. The green light at night is just right as you can easily see. If you want something nice to show for your hardwork/money this is it. Seems to be accurate without any adjustments so far. Easy to wire one black one red wire. Came with mounting screws and a foam gasket that I did not use. I used 3M fast cure marine sealant to make a water tight seal.

As advertised, works perfectly.
