Works good but be careful
It does work as described, but don't get carried away. I only treat a quarter of my pond at a time so that I don't hurt my fish. It won't remove all of the algae from the rocks if it's heavy growth, but you can retreat as needed. There are warnings on the container about being very corrosive, so where your gloves and glasses to be safe. A dash of this stuff in your eyes would be very bad. Just use as directed and you'll be fine. I have 7 butterfly koi and 8 fantail goldfish, and they did just fine. Highly recommend you run a bubbler/aerator for a day or two to prevent hurting your fish. Better safe than sorry.

Worked on string algae in pond less stream
Turned off the pump, sprinkled on the rocks, turned water back on. Amazing! The water turned brown and muddy looking but the next day it was clear. A week later I noticed some algae starting to come back. Repeated the process and BAM it’s clear again. It’s been about 6 weeks since the second treatment and no algae has returned. I still have enough of this stuff for at least 2-4 more treatments when needed. Definitely recommended.

Made water very cloudy - be careful!!
I am super disappointed. I have an 8,000 gallon pond. I use aquascape beneficial bacteria and have very good success with that product. I thought this would be a good compliment to combat some string algae that formed on my waterfall. Followed directions and was left with cloudy water. It's been three weeks and it's still cloudy despite good aeration and continuing with all other regular treatments. My water clarity was excellent before I used this and now I can barely see down a few inches. Since I had to turn off the waterfall anyway to use this treatment, next time I'll just let the rocks dry and take the algae off myself, that's about the only place it forms. Wish I had thought of that before creating this mess! I also wish I could contact aquascape with questions rather than the "find a rep" feature. I'll continue using the beneficial bacteria because that one is by the far the best for us, but this has me rethinking ever experimenting with any other products by aquascape.

Container cheap and impossible to open
The product comes w no instructions- really obnoxious given the warning of caustic reactions if not handled properly. This is our secon tub purchase. Tub is as cheap as they come. This last order the tub didn’t have any openings. We’re returning

Just so-so
I wanted to remove the thick algae from the waterfall rocks. While it DID remove the algae initially, it seemed to come back within just a few days, and now is as thick as before, but the string algae IS gone. I have a plant bog on top of the waterfall, so now that the plants have filled back in, I assumed they would keep the algae at bay. As long as the string algae doesn’t return, I guess it has accomplished that part of the mission.
