While I have not tried many different brands with some of these supplements I have always been satisfied with the quality of Bul
First off, I have tried many supplements over the years. While I have not tried many different brands with some of these supplements I have always been satisfied with the quality of Bulksupplements as a whole. Apart from the bag which never seals properly once it fills up with powder. On to the Ashwaganda. I came across it while looking for natural herbs that might help my anxiety problems. I have social anxiety that essentially seems to trigger my adrenal (or maybe fight or flight) system. When I feel pressured my heart rate increases, sometimes I sweat and generally get a jittery feeling. It can take five minutes or so for my system to calm down. Its not a terribly serious issue but it does limit my ability to interact in even mildly stressful situations. Sometimes I am more sensitive then others. I have tried many things over the years - meditation, mindfulness, introspection and on the supplement side L-theanine, Rhodiola Rosea, Bacopa Monnieri and Ginseng. Also dietary things have helped in general like maca, spirulina, fish oil, coconut oil, raw honey and eating well. All of this has been helpful but Ashwaganda has been more so then anything else. On the psychoactive side it has a relaxing effect, like stress is reduced. Almost like the feeling you get after meditating in the morning. But on the anxiety side it seems to take the edge off. I still have many of the same thoughts and impulses that my anxiety normally produces but the intensity is reduced and it feels much more manageable. The effect was actually quite significant and I am very grateful for it. I took it for about ten days straight, 1/8 tsp twice a day, and noticed a great difference. But it seemed to be more significant at first and life events kept me from using it for a period of time, so now I'm now experimenting with different doses and regimens. Anyways, I have definitely noticed a major improvement in my anxiety and general mood. I don't really notice a come down and it doesn't make me tired. I don't currently have L-theanine but I think that in combination the two might work synergistically.

Appears to be a good product
I was sent a free sample of this product to review. I took roughly a size 0 capsule amount morning and evening for two weeks and tried to pay attention to how I reacted. The flavor of the stuff is not at all unpleasant and to me tastes just like roasted sweet potatoes but a bit stronger. It mixed alright with water, though usually I took it straight because I like the flavor. Overall I noticed that when I started taking it I believe I slept better because I started to wake up easier and earlier. I had some stressful things during that time period, and I seemed to remain calm and take it better than normal. Whether situational coincidence or no, I did notice I was more stressed and down after I stopped taking it than during that two week period. It's really hard to say exactly what was due to the ashwagandha vs something else (placebo effect, life inconsistencies, limited time, other variables, etc.) and I would have liked to take it for a couple months by itself then alternate on and off every couple weeks so I can more accurately gauge its effect, but I left it with my mom when I went out of town because I felt she would benefit from it. I have since ordered more and am excited to try it more thoroughly. P.S. To those who complain about the packaging of BulkSupplements products: If you squeeze the bag to push the airspace up to the top, then tap the bag on a tabletop, the powder should fall down inside so it won't get all over when you open it the first time. Then to clean the zipper, just flick each side of the open top a couple times and the powder in the seal with come out and the zipper will close just fine.

Ashwaganda from 2019 was amazing!
Cleaning out my supplements drawer, I recently found the Ashwaganda I purchased from Bulk Supplements back in March 2019. I had transferred it from the sealed packet it came in to a glass jar with a sealed top but 1/8 tsp. up to 3 X a day dose suggested had done nothing for me that I noticed and I had stopped taking it. Over the next 5-1/2 years the product in the jar had melted down from 5" of powder to about 3/4" of hardened, thick, dark syrup. I couldn't dig it out with a spoon so I filled the jar with water and put it in the microwave. The hard syrup cake didn't loosen but the water turned coffee dark and, out of curiosity I tasted it, It was delicious! Not one to be wasteful, I continued sipping it throughout the day, repeatedly filling it with water and microwaving it over the next couple of weeks until the cake was finally completely melted. I have no way to even guess the dose of Ashwaganda I was taking but from the very first day I started feeling better, stronger and very happy. My energy tends to fluctuate erratically but had been bumping along zero for over a year. Suddenly I could think clearly. I could remember so much I had been forgetting. I could even remember what I was trying to do while I was doing it! (Anyone old probably knows what I'm talking about). There was so much I wanted to do and everything felt possible, some things even easy. My body couldn't quite keep up at first but it got stronger every day, It was almost like being young again only with lower expectations and more patience,. At first I wasn't sure it was the Ashwaganda, after all, I had felt nothing 5 years ago and my stash had aged, presumably losing potency. Over the years I have had days, more and more rare, when I unexplainably felt like myself again for a few hours. I had never been able to recreate those days at will, but they gave me hope and kept me trying. The jar was finally clear a few days ago. I had been reading about Rhodiola and it sounded even better than Ashwaganda so I ordered some from Bulk Supplements. Delivery was taking too long so I found capsules from another company that promised to deliver overnight and actually did! The first 500 mg capsule made me feel awful. Of course, with supplements you never really know. It could have been the stress from Hurricane Helena, or the withdrawal from Ashwaganda. Nevertheless, I searched through all my supplements for help and to my great joy I found my original packet of Ashwaganda, more than half full! And, wonder of wonders, the powder was still loose and measurable! Gave me new respect for Bulk Supplements' packaging that annoys so many people. Yesterday I measured two 1/8 tsp of the powder into a cup of hot microwaved water. It seemed to barely take the edge off my funk. Just placebo maybe? I took another dose before bed. Maybe more earlier? It's all a bit hazy. My memory isn't all the way back yet, but I did sleep much better last night. Took 1/4 tsp this morning after coffee. (Yes, I know that's the same as two 1/8 tsp.). That was two hours ago and I'm convinced: it's definitely the Ashwaganda! I never want to run out. It will take time to fine-tune my dosage with my newly discovered aged powder and Amazon reviews of Bulk Supplements' Ashwaganda have taken a scary dive lately. I'll wait to see if they sort that out before trying another supplier. I like and trust Bulk Supplements.

FAKE content WARNING: very Disappointed with the Quality of Ashwagandha Extract
I have been a long-time customer of this company, primarily for their Ashwagandha extract. Their product stood out for its high-quality, pleasant taste, and purity. However, my recent experiences have left me deeply disappointed. About a year and a half ago, I received a batch of Ashwagandha that was nearly black in color and had a rancid taste. Despite the company’s insistence that the product was not contaminated, my experience suggested otherwise. I decided to take a break and explore alternatives. Recently, I decided to give them another chance, hoping that my previous experience was an isolated incident. Unfortunately, the product I received this time around was far from satisfactory. While the color was improved, the texture was off, resembling cornstarch more than the grainy texture I was accustomed to. The flavor was tangy and caused a burning sensation in my mouth, unlike any Ashwagandha I’ve ever had. To my disappointment, I noticed an additional ingredient - dextrin. I was under the impression that I was purchasing a pure extract powder, not one with additives. This change was not communicated, and it has significantly impacted my experience with the product. Furthermore, the product does not dissolve well. Despite my best efforts - shaking, stirring, and even using an electric stirrer - I ended up with undissolved brown clumps. My attempt to return the product for a refund was unsuccessful. I am writing this review to express my dissatisfaction with the recent decline in the quality of the Ashwagandha extract. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving their product. Until then, I cannot recommend this product.

Seems like a good product
This is my first Ashwagandha I have ever tried. I browsed couple places to buy from. But it seems the quality is very undetermined and unreliable for every batch. Even a little confusing about extraction rate. Except those more expensive KSM-66 one. I decided to try BulkSupplement because of great reviews and good price. I received 5:1 extract powder. The color is medium brown (like microigridients shows at their picture) which supposed to be a sign of a good quality. The taste is okay, it has a bitter flavor with a little sweet tone. I might try other brands next time to compare. And I haven't felt any noticeable effect on me yet. Will update this review later with the results I'll get.

Part of my recovery rotation
As I started training in earnest for an Ironman, I went to a 4 day training camp that included evening talks from specialists. One specialist was a doctor who spoke at length about adrenal fatigue, the importance of keeping cortisol levels in a healthy range and that athletes should approach recovery activities with the same discipline they apply to their cardio and strength workouts. She suggested adaptogens like Ashwagandha and some form of Magnesium to support recovery (she said different types of magnesium tend to impact different parts of the body and that she was agnostic about which type was "best" for a given athlete). Another specialist was a molecular biologist who shared her personal struggle with lyme disease and the importance of cultivating a healthy and diverse microbiome. While she was skeptical about the quality of probiotics currently on offer, believing the bacteria that can be rendered in shelf-stable pill form are not representative of the bacteria germane to healthy guts. However she said that she personally has had success with a fiber-rich diet and prebiotics like Inulin and Rhodiola which encourage good bacteria already in your gut to flourish. Armed with a shopping list, I hit Amazon and was discouraged to find that there isn't much transparency about the quality and specific formulation in most pills on the market. I liked that Bulksupplements catalog was large enough to carry everything on the list, that you get great value in terms of doses for price, and that I could control and customize dosing and delivery mechanism. With Ashwagandha, I also learned that another one of its properties is support in managing anxiety. Maybe it is placebo, but I found that to be the case for me and a welcomed side effect. The drawbacks to this bulk form is that it can get messy and Ashwagandha doesn't smell or taste great. I've ultimately settled on pre-mixing a little canister of powder supplements from Bulksupplements and adding to a post-workout protein shake (sometimes doubling as a meal replacement) Vega Sport Performance Protein, Chocolate, Tub 29oz the stevia entirely covers the taste. My training peaks data seems to be just a bit better the day after a shake day and the workouts themselves feel a little less grueling to get through.

This stuff works!
I rarely write reviews for supplements, as I don’t see or feel all the benefits. This makes sense as most are designed to keep us healthy for the long term, so short-term effects are not always noticed. Not with the Bulk Supplements Ashwagandha! I read many reviews and have taken this only twice, as I got the order two days ago. Slept great as usual both nights, BUT got up feeling energized and ready to go. Took a coffee with me yesterday morning for my road trip but didn’t need to drink it at all. Woke up an hour before my alarm went off this morning (3am) and could have stayed up but 415 is early enough to get up and head to the gym. So the reviews are correct and you will notice a difference right away. I also take glycine, magnesium and potassium at night, so this was added to the list of Bulk Supplements. Good stuff.
