I got this mount for my DIY camper build inside my suv. It has worked well for that purpose, especially for the low cost. I was surprised that the whole body end mounting ring were aluminum at the price point. The mount has 4 adjustment points which is fine for one and done setup. The metal ball and screw mount can rotate axially around the base, and the ball and socket rotates on a polar axis truth 180 degrees. Both tighten with a wing nut on the base. The clamp screws in using the same threaded nut/screw as a camera tripod. The clamp screws into the threaded part on the ball, and has two places to screw on to. So the clamp can be attached from the middle or base. And of course the clamp tightens down. The whole setup is very stable when tightened but seems to be meant to moved infrequently which has fine. I was able to fit a galaxy S ultra series phone with room to spare so it should fit any phone type/brand. Overall I'm surprised that an all metal base was only $12 and has worked perfectly for me.
