It will not notify you, but it does log (date and time) all entries or tamper attempts all the way back to when it was tested at the factory.

Q: Is the rechargeable battery replaceable? Can non-rechargeable (e.g. AA) batteries be used?

Yes, the battery is replaceable and uses an 18650 size rechargeable lithium-ion. This size is readily available and we recommend using a brand name replacement such as Panasonic if not purchased from us. Our safes are not compatible with AA batteries as the 18650 battery size is larger.

Q: Can it be bolted down

Hi Dean, our safes are pre-drilled with two holes in the bottom that can be used to 1) fasten down with the supplied mounting hardware or 2) install the included security cable to secure where you like. Thanks for reaching out, any other questions please let us know!

Q: What is the difference between the vt20 and the vt20i

According to their website, the only difference is the biometric scanner to open it. The two models you reference are the same size, and weight and only show to have the difference stated above.
