Great experience (with both Backcountry & Chacos Support). Sizing is confusing, but it worked out.
The seller (Backcountry) and Manufacturer (Chacos) were both great and super helpful. This is my first pair of Chacos and the sizing can be confusing (for 1/2 size ppl at least), as well as knowing the style you want. I tend to overthink, especially when buying something that I'll be walking on/in for years. Had I known more, I would have had it all figured out (size/style) before ordering online, but these were a great deal/price, so I jumped at it and then tried to make sure I'd bought the right thing. I'm a 9.5 normally, so I didn't know whether to get a 9 or a 10 since Chacos only comes in whole sizes. Chacos blog says to size up, so I bought the 10. When I got them, they SEEMED a bit large, so I got spooked and went online for advice (probably my mistake, ha). Lots of reviews say to size down (I'm panicking), although some more "scientific" articles/reviews said to use a Brannock device to measure Arch length, as that is the most important factor (more confused). I emailed Chacos support, who told me to ignore their blog and size down (major panic now). I literally boxed them up for return (sadly), but decided to make a trip to my local outdoor store for one last, in-person recommendation. I'm glad I did. I tried on 9s and 10s, in multiple styles (toe loop, no toe loop, classic, VOLV) and measured my arch lenth (turns out it's a 10). The conclusion was that, althought the 9 appeared to fit my overall foot size slightly better (the 10 has some extra footbed at the toe), the 10s felt/feel WAY more comfortable and fit my arch perfectly. I jumped right in (again, maybe not smart) and wore them to two, all-day events last weekend (8 and 10 hours respectively, with LOTS of walking and standing) and they are fantastic. Super comfortable, no blisters, chafing, or any issues (besides dusty feet and a weird tan). FWIW, I didn't realize that most ppl wear them pretty darn loose compared to what I thought I'd wear them, which also helped with what I was concerned would be too much "excess strap" after pulling them tight. Anyway -- moral of the story is to GO TO A STORE WITH A KNOWLEDGABLE SALESPERSON THAT YOU TRUST and get properly sized for Chacos and choose the style you like (toe strap/no strap) best BEFORE ordering online. If it's a place you shop at regularly, they'll be happy to help you (hopefully), or just tell them you are putting them on your birthday/holiday list for someone else to buy so you just need sized correctly (haha). If you get the right style and size, Chacos are excellent.

Standard fit, nice and sturdy. If you're between sizes, go for the smaller one.
Sandals fit well - as-expected based on size. If you're a half-size, I'd err on the closest size down (I'm a 10.5, went with 10s and this fit great). But what I'd really recommend is buying both sizes through Amazon's try-before-you-buy program. Super easy to try both and send one pair back. Support is nice - more than you'd expect from a sandal. I've had these for a whole summer season and been on multiple beach trips in and out of the water, and they still look brand new (though I am making sure to rinse them in fresh water after being in the salt). I'd feel confident & comfortable wearing these all day in most (open-toe-safe!) scenarios. Only gripe is that the straps you pull on to secure the sandals are ~2" too long, the way they fit my feet anyway. I feel like that's not a real criticism though, it'd take like 20 minutes to shorten them myself.

Don't Throw Away the Instructions
I have a very high arch and need the support these provide on both the inside and outside of my foot. It is wonderful to be able to do the things I have always done in sandals again. BUT don't throw the instructions out until you get used to how to pull on the strap, sinch these up and pull a little slack in them when you take them off. For someone used to wrapping a bit of Velcro in place for decades, these are still a little clumsy to get on. However, the souls are well made, the straps seem up to the task, reward is great and I'm getting used to bending over and pulling the strap.

Chaco sandals arent the same😫
I am a long time Chaco Fan. I sold Chaco Sandals for 20 years and loved them from the start. But Chaco now, owned by Wolverine, makers of Merrell shoes have altered the product. Now smaller narrower and different outsole and a slight tweak in the arch where the heal is now positive instead of the tried and true neutral or negative. The angle makes them virtually unwearable. I have three older pairs from 90s(the best), 2001 2nd best, 2007 ok but delamanated after a couple years, and 2019 the worst. Strap is paper thin, easy to adjust but can"t last long. When I where this pai, my knees and ankles hurt, they changed the heal it used to be wider now its dished and narrower. Also outsole is difficult to clean. I am very bummed as chaco was only thing I could wear as I have poly neuropathy and recovered from plantar fasciitis and surgery a few years back. CHACO please bring back the tried and True perfect arch support!!! Edit: After completely wearing out my 2007 pair I decided to try these again. I realized the sole was super stiff and not broke in. I flexed the entire sole with my hands twisting and flexing in all directions. And what do you know, they softened up alot and I am finding I can wear these now. Very happy! I still feel like the strap will wear out too quick and the outsole will clog with dirt quicker than I like but thank God for the arch support and over all comfort!!!

Excellent & Comfortable -- once you understand the adjustments
Edit... I was talking about this sandal with a friend who told me how to adjust them <sigh> <d'oh>. Now that I understand that I can easily slide the straps within the soles -- THEY FIT! Really well! And are very comfortable! Old: I wanted to like this sandal -- but it just doesn't fit and there're no real adjustments. You can't adjust the toe strap -- you can't adjust the heel strap. Only the ankle strap loosens -- but only to hold in your foot. And the sole is wonderful -- thick and solid -- if I could shift my foot 1/4" forwards away from the bumps where the straps are embedded. But the way that it is -- it just doesn't fit and it's very uncomfortable. Maybe a1/2 a size larger would fit -- which they don't make... But then, I'd be concerned that after a month or a year, as it breaks-in, that I'd want to make adjustments that I can't.

A very odd and bland colour.

Very comfortable sandals. These were to replace Chaco ones I’ve been wearing for years and couldn’t find in stores. Arrived very quickly, and are exactly what I wanted
