Great Book that's More than Just a Collection of Licks
This is a truly fantastic book that breaks down a usable and practical approach to gypsy jazz and soloing. More than just a collection of licks, it walks through the process of envisioning a solo and a run. That said, this is not a beginner book. While it simplifies the approach, it doesn't make it easy. I'm an intermediate player (at best) and when I listened to the very first audio sample I realized quickly that I was out of my depth. After importing the file into an app that allowed me to slow down the tempo (to about 70%), I was able to get a better feel. So, it would be great if the audio files could come in multiple speeds; at least a slow walk-through and a regular speed version. That said, if you're technically ready to tackle gypsy jazz and just need some examples of licks that illustrate theory and technique, this book will be perfect.

Great Book!
Not a beginner book, but if your getting into gypsy jazz and trying to generate lick ideas, Remi does a great job of sharing those in the most used keys and many tips that are great to apply towards new licks of your own. Really great book, highly recommend.

Outstanding GJ lick collection, incredible value
Bottomline is, this book is an incredible value. If you're into GJ at any level, stop reading and order now. Here's why I'm so positive about this book:1) licks are logically arranged in groups of 10 or so per tonality and each highlights some interesting device (triplets, enclosures, chromaticisim). Contrast this to most other books/methods that just present a random smattering of licks.2) Each lick is complex enough to give you good mileage in a real solo situation, and can also be extendedto create interesting new variations.3) Remi provides a nice description per lick, or per lick group to tell you what's going on. That info is extremely useful if you want to really adopt these, or build your own from them.4) Audio samples are really good, easy to download (unlike some other reviewer claimed) and easy to navigate.5) As far as I've skimmed through the samples, the authoer hasn't stuffed filler material to get to one hundred. THese are all individually great ideas.

Exactly what I've been looking for
I began learning gypsy jazz this year, and acquiring language and licks has been a struggle (I've either had to watch long YouTube tutorials or transcribe records -- very time consuming). I've looked to other books, but most of them are in French and are more focused on picking technique and the CAGED system rather than licks.I've followed Remi Harris since I started learning the genre and have always wanted to learn the licks he was playing. Now he's made it easy for me. The book has nice diagrams and EXPLANATIONS for each lick that put it in context and help you *understand* the lick on a musical level. This book is going to keep me busy at least for the next couple of years.Another reviewer stated the book doesn't come with the audio. He clearly didn't read the section "Getting the Audio" which directs you to the fundamental-changes website for the download. Thanks Remi!

Vocabulary at your fingertips
Let's face it - if you're interested in GJ guitar, you want to just jump straight in and play the licks. This style is generally taught by immersion anyway, so this is perfect. The audio was very easy to locate and download as explained early in the book.

Excellent - The book is laid out in such a logical way!
I love the structure of the book: Major lines one chapter, Minor the next, Dom7, etc...I immediately dropped a couple of lines in one of the tunes I'm working on - looking forward to learning more of them more!

Remi is very talented and is also quite good at conveying his ideas and concepts. Great book for anyone trying to get a handle on building a foundation for their improvisational vocabulary for gypsy jazz.

Amazing book from Remi Harris.
Amazing book from Remi Harris. I love the way he approaches improvisation based on the harmonic content of the chords/chord sequence and freeing your playing from an exclusive scalar approach. Licks are great and it's a book that you can come back to over and over again and find new inspiration every time. Highly recommended.

Disappointed
In the description for the book it is clearly stated that an audio file is available to accompany the book this turned out not to be the case. The only option Amazon gave me was a full refund and to return the book. EDIT: Apparently I purchased it before the official release date which wasn’t mentioned in the listing which is why the audio wasn’t available and was a added a couple of days later. I did read how to download the audio and Amazon checked to see if it was on the website which it wasn’t like one of the reviewers mentioned.
