The Society of American Engineers SAE-840 bronze sleeve bearing insert is oil impregnated, containing 25 percent oil volume within the porous structure of the insert to provide a film of lubricant between the bearing and shaft and help ensure long life. This bearing allows self-realignment of up to 5 degrees and compensates for static and dynamic alignment errors, it has an operating temperature range of -20 to 200 degrees F, and it is permanently sealed and lubricated to help extend service life.
