Let me be very clear here.. For what I paid, I definitely got my money's worth, but, and there’s a but, although this 40x lens gets close, it’s not close enough in my opinion though to full determine plant harvest time. Some plants also have larger tricomes than others, and some plants have smaller or larger ones depending on the strain or flowering light cycles you choose (12-12) or (14-10).Anyway, the little light with this lens is a nice touch, but in my opinion, 40x just isn’t enough. For anything else this lens should do the trick, but for THC go 60x and up at least. This lens will problem solve specific plant pests though, so like I said, it’s worth the money, but if you’re simply looking to determine if it’s time to harvest, I would strongly suggest a tad higher in lens strength.

I used this to see the crystals forming on a flower bud of cannabis. This magnification did not meet my needs. I would say that it is not truthful to its description in magnification but have no way to prove its actual magnification. It did not allow for any more clarity than the naked eye.Other than that, the material quality is great and sturdy.But again not useful and the price is not great either.

The plastic lens has many aberrations. Buy a more expensive glass-lensed unit.
