We've had a tough winter with people slipping on icy curbs but no more, I could run on ice literaly and I do. Easy to slip on construction boots or heavy shoe and to take off as well. Heavy steel and sturdy construction. Get through winter with confidence.

There are several types and brands of crampon ice grippers. The first pair I purchased had strips of coiled wire that cross-crossed on the bottom of the boot. They weren't effective, sturdy, or reliable. One or the other would keep falling off, and I would find it lying on the ground on the return walk back. They also had a habit of sliding sideways on smooth, glassy ice, which made them terribly ineffective and dangerous. After falling and breaking my wrist while wearing them, I decided to purchase a very expensive brand of spikes that were guaranteed to dig in and protect from falling. This brand looks nearly identical to Uelfbaby (they all look like something left over from the Spanish Inquisition) and they were triple the price. They worked brilliantly - I ran up an ice covered mountains with ease and immediately felt safe on any icy surface. However, a year later, the rubbery band that held them onto the boot just split in half, and that was the end of that pair. So I started looking on Amazon for another pair of spikes, and picked these out of a lineup of similar looking styles. I got them for my husband and kids (who are carrying a baby on ice). The first thing I noticed about these is that it's challenging to stretch the rubber band onto the bottom of the boot. If I had to give one piece of advice - when in doubt, get the next size up. My husband had a tough time getting the band to go over his Muck boots but once he did, they fit well - and he loves that they make him feel safe on the ice for the first time ever. He walks one of our dogs several times a day, and this is a total game changer for him. Since the rubbery band is so hard to get on and off the boots, he has decided to just leave the band on this pair and get a second pair of boots that he'll use when it isn't icy. It should be noted that it was also hard to stretch the band onto the boots with the first, very expensive brand I purchased, the one that tore, and I suspect this might be the same for other spikes of this type as well. Even though it's hard to stretch the band on the boot, I can't recommend this type of spiky protection enough. Buying these spikes + a second pair of boots to go with them is a fraction of the cost of treating broken bones from a fall on the ice.

I wear a 7.5-8 in women's but ordered a size up as the chart suggested to fit my snow boots. These were amazing on my super steep icy driveway. They fit my Columbia boots snugly and I never slipped or lost my footing once this winter. The construction of the crampons was great, and the spikes dug right into the ice.

These worked great for my husband & I this winter. Our roads got frequent snows so we’re more icy than usual. We put these on Sorels & all was great.
