Works with pfSense/OPNsense but has Realtek NICs
I've been using this as a dedicated OPNsense router for several weeks now. Initially had major problems due to the Realtek NICs and using the generic FreeBSD drivers that come with OPNsense. It was hard to diagnose the issue but I figured the cause was that I didn't install the Realtek drivers (which are easy to install as an OPNsense plugin). So I installed it and that fixed my issues. It's been running great for the last three weeks. If I had to do it all over again, I'd look for a similar device but with Intel NICs for at most $50 more. The current price for this mini PC is great though. Handles my 50+ devices with no issues. I have Wireguard and Adguard running with no issues. I haven't installed any intensive apps since I wanted to get stability problems resolved first, but I think this PC could handle it.Switching to OPNsense hasn't brought me much tangible value yet, so I do regret purchasing this PC since my previous router was working fine.If you notice issues where DNS stops resolving randomly, our you can't finish setting up your Nest Audio or other IoT devices, then the FreeBSD drivers are likely the issue. Install the Realtek driver plugin and you should be good to go.

Crashes with BoS every day
Positives: It is quiet and works well for a basic browsing and video viewing computer. when it works.Negatives: Does not go a day without causing a Blue Screen of Death. All of them happen without leaving events or bug check numbers. By stopping automatic reboots, you can see what the crash is about. They vary from "Critical Process Died" to "Kernel Data In Page Error".No driver update fixes it. The hardware checks out during testing. Finding a BIOS update is basically impossible except for one from 2021 which the computer should already have.I've worked in IT for three decades and never had a computer so problematic.Basically I use it like a chrome book, and save everything important in the cloud.

I'm actually quite impressed with this little PC
I was looking for a replacement for my self-made firewall and by chance I found this PC with 2 LAN ports, which although perphaps not as good for the task as 6 ports computers that I've seen for 50 dollars more, it was good enough to accomplish it.I first submitted the pc to some stress tests and shockingly the performance of the machine is on par with an intel i3-4020Y laptop, which is waaay more than I was expecting for a celeron PC.Overall if you're looking to host a low power consumption home server, personal computer or firewall I believe this is a great option, however this is a rather bad choice if you're looking for a machine to play games with as it doesn't have enough pickup for that. Also make sure to remove the spyware known as windows 11 out of it, it's so bloated it actually makes the computer seem slower than normal.

Be careful when adding an SSD for addl storage
First, good cyber Monday deal. Fired up with no problems, I was impressed. You can add an internal SSD for additional storage.I decided to buy a 500GB SSD while there were some good bargains. Watched the video in the Q&A and seemed very easy. It is.....but:Make sure you watch the video and open it exactly as they show in the video. There is a fragile very thin ribbon connector that connects from the SSD mount on the bottom of the case to the main board. I opened correctly but there isn't much slack in the ribbon and it easily popped out of the connection on the SSD mount. The end of the ribbon just has some tiny gold contacts, not a sturdy plug. After I easily inserted the SSD I now had to try to get that ribbon inserted back in to the connection. This wasn't easy! The ribbon is fragile so it won't take much distress and some force is required to get it back in and then hope you got it inserted correctly and all the contacts properly aligned!Wait a second- I kinda think that ribbon wasn't inserted correctly in the first place and that is why it slipped out so easily. I was ready to return the unit because of this but I tried one more time and this time I guess I got it right. After each try you have to turn on the unit and see if it sees the SSD, more tedium. After a number of tries I finally got it inserted correctly. So, be careful when installing an SSD. Mine, with the addl SSD, is now (so far) working fine. Here is a link where you can see the video in the Q&A: https://www.amazon.com/ask/questions/Tx1ME0EUHPV8DHO/ref=ask_dp_dpmw_al_hza

Perfect for use as a Pfsense router.
After researching many different devices to use as a pfsense router, I decided to try the G1 mini pc out. What I noticed that was different from many other mini pc manufacturers is that the Trigkey G1 has a quiet fan vs many others that are passive cooling and do not have a fan. I have read that users have had problems with other routers that use passive cooling because of heat issues. So far, the G1 has been great and has been at a stable 40 degrees Celsius with an average of about a 2 percent CPU load.

Works perfectly for pfSense, very happy!
I was wanting to experiment with using pfSense as my router/firewall, and needed something small but powerful enough to handle the tasks and also had 2 ethernet connections. This one has it all, and works great.

opnsense runs quiet and stable, easy setup
The unit comes with windows 11 and works very smooth. The unit runs well with latest opnsense. Easy setup. The opnsense with firewall but without IPS enabled could pump almost 9xxMbps in both directions. with opnSense/ with intrusion prevention services enabled, the speed test could be approx 280Mbps in up/down over 1 Gbps fiber internet. The unit runs alway in room temperatur.I could not find the auto power on from the bios though. The bios version is 5.13, build date; 03/30/2022, model is: Green G1. Connected to customer support and they showed where is the auto power on in bios in earlier version. I still can’t see any auto power in this version of bios.Overall this mini pc is great as windows or opnsense firewall.
