Great little device. Easy to install. It is installed on 1" coper line. The water hardness level in my area is 28-30gpg which is extremely hard water. We have a water softener that successfully softens the water but there is a big problem with the amount of salt being introduced to our treated water. So now my water softener is set to a lower number and we get about 7gpg hardness after it (compared to almost none before). Because of the Yarna Descaler the current "harder" water is more manageable now. No more hard white deposits on bathroom or kitchen faucets. The water droplets still leave white powder behind if let dry, but this powder wipes out easy. When I was looking for the descaler I wasn't able to find max flow characteristics for most of the devices, so I opted for the the most powerful device that works with biggest pipe diameter. Maybe it is an overkill for my setup but it works and I'm happy with the result.

Bought and installed this per instructions in June 2021. Very easy install. Our well water here near Oshawa, Ontario is very hard, causing extreme deposits on glassware and shower doors. For reference, our original 15-year old salt-based softener works very well, eliminating almost all mineral deposits; it costs about $5-10 in salt a month. Over the next 9 months, ie until March 2022, we ran 4 very controlled A-B comparison cycles between the Yarna and our old salt softener. The Yarna had precisely zero effect. Let me be clear: that's 4 periods with the Yarna, and 4 periods with the salt system. Very thankful Yarna offers a no-questions-asked 1-yr full money-back policy. I'm sure it works for some houses, btw, and the key is extensive testing, so give it a shot.

Well I'm giving this a shot. We have a well and pressure tank. Our water maxed out the hardness strips when I tested I five minutes before install. Install is super easy but with limited space I really struggled to get it wrapped around the pipe a minimum of nine times like it said. I saw where someone else said to let it overlap rather than leave a gap so I tried to do that. We live where it's extremely cold and have wires along the pipes as well to keep them from freezing in the winter so I'm not sure if that will hinder it or not. I contacted support through email because everyone said they are amazing, I wasn't super impressed and I'm really frustrated because I sent emails with videos and pictures asking how to do it better, if this was acceptable, if this would work. I just got canned responses back saying to give it time. So no help with install at all, the only helpful response was that it has to be before the pressure tank or it won't make much difference. If you have a lot of exposed pipe I'm sure this would be easy but we have a small area and this has me unsure about whether it will work. The lack of tech support makes me less likely to recommend this as the reason I went with this product was because of the rave reviews about tech support. Edit: It's been a few months. The hardness strips are still maxed out but now there is a white powdery substance on EVERYTHING our water touches. I'm not sure what's going on but I'm not a fan and there has been no customer service assistance. Our water is still itchy and our skin is still rough feeling and our shower heads are getting clogged with the white powder. For this amount of money I definitely recommend something else. This won't help your hard water.

OK ... I'll be up front - I thought these things were a scam. But now I'm eating crow ... After just a week the scale in the dishwasher is no more. I had to clean it thoroughly first so that I could see if the device made a difference. But it does! It took about a week to really see the difference in the hot water. Our problem is limestone - calcium - and perhaps that's why it was so effective. I could see the science with that. Kettles still scale up, but MUCH less and it's softer scale that can be easily wiped off. The water is NOT softer of course, but that's not the issue. Would I recommend this? Well I've tried every other none salt based process and overall this will be the most economical and effective - if it lasts. Give it a go, give it a few weeks to try, clean up first, and then see for yourself. You can always return it! Only four stars because of the price. The parts in this device can be purchased for under a hundred bucks if you know where to look. But it seems to be well made and kudos to the company for getting it together! And the money you will save on your appliances will more than cover the cost over time. PS: I should have taken some "before" pics! The inside was thoroughly coated in scale before we installed this and about 70% of it disappeared in a week after installing the device. I then cleaned the dishwasher with citric acid to remove the rest. The pic you see is after three washes. Before the device, the stainless would be grey with calcium deposits after three washes. Now it is not. I have now ordered another unit for another water system that is hard water but NOT strictly limestone. I wonder if it will work as well ....

The product was in new condition. all parts were included. install was easy and appears to function as designed. I was able to easily register the unit. The product appears to be about 3 years old according to the date stamp (2022 09 27) on both box and the unit. Nothing on Amazon product information that it is not a current version. Makes me wonder if or when there may have been updates or improvements?????
