Does clear necklace organizer holder work well?

No. Necklaces get tangled. Everything falls to the bottom. The clip closing it broke it easily

Does this case easily hold chunkier necklaces, like pearls and similar-sized stones? Or is it better for just thinner strand necklaces, as shown.

I ordered two: one for my chains & thinner strand necklaces, and one for my pearls, etc. Works just fine! Everything is organized and visible.

How do you attach the magnets?

It has magnets working fine. I love it. Don't hesitate. I hold ton of necklaces but as you see, my necklaces are very thin.

It is designed as a necklace holder and is great for that. I suppose the pegs for the necklaces could hold hoop earrings, but I think you might find something designed specifically for earrings that would work better
