Although you need a bit of patience putting it back together, it’s still very simple to use. I taught my kids how to use it in an emergency. It’s incredibly stable. Be sure to prepare your kids by letting them know that it may wobble around a bit when they’re climbing down, but that they needn’t worry because it’ll 100% hold their weight.

I haven't opened it up, as I've read previous reviews about being unable to get it back in the bag after opening. It appears sturdy and helps ease my mind, as our bedrooms are on the second floor.

The rungs being away from the house make it less dangerous and much easier to use. Strong hook keeps it well-anchored on the window sill.

The hangers and steps are steel construction. with nylon web stringers. It's heavy in order to be strong and supportive, but still light enough to be maneuverable. If you're hemmed in by a fire, you'll easily find the strength to deploy it. Hook the hangers onto the sill and push the bundle of steps and stringers over the edge. Pop the velcro pulls and all the steps and stringers of the bundle will drop into the proper, deployed position. No matter your weight this thing is NOT going to fail. If you're too heavy for it, it's because you're too heavy to get through the window. It's a winner! Would be great for tree stands and deer blinds too.

We bought this for our daughter and her fiancé for Christmas. They have a 5 bedroom house, and 3 of their bedrooms are on the second floor. My husband thought this was a good idea, and I couldn’t agree more. After searching reviews, he decided on this one. The box though, be careful. They were picking up to leave after Christmas, and I heard “Boom” It’s heavy, and it fell right out of the bottom of the box! I’d say they need to make a better box for its weight! Took a star off for this.
