Nice utilitarian wakizashi
The wakizashi arrived promptly and well packaged. It is sharp and well oiled. The handle, hilt, and pommel are secured tightly and nothing is loose. The sheath is secure and hold the blade tight, with no rattling. For others considering this blade. It is a little heavy for it’s size. The handle it’s self is a bit rough on the hand, but is very grippy.

Good entry budget sword, needs a bit of work.
Pretty solid sword. Cuts 1" wood reasonably I ended up resharpening it as it had a large angle edge and i wanted it closer to 15deg. At a sharper angle it cuts better and holds an edge reasonably well for its price. Ive hit hard branches having it bounce off without obvious deflection in the curve of the blade after. The guard had somewhat sharp edges which i took a dremmel to grind and smooth the edges as it tended to cut into my hand when using it with force. So overall for the money its a pretty good budget sword that just needs a bit of cleaning up. I own several other honshu swords of similar quality and satisfaction.

Awesome
This thing rocks. Solid construction, good materials, arrived decently sharp. I like the size and balance. I use it to chop up fruits and vegetables for my chickens. I'm considering getting the full-size katana version or the modern broadsword.

Well put together.
Came exactly as expected. Seems durable and sharp.

Not sharp not hardened
Steel soft and granulated can sharpen with file file should not touch a hardened blade don't waste your money

Don’t buy, save your money.
It would have been a great sword. Instead one simple screw set on the handle is stripped and thus blade/handle rattle. United Cutlery don’t have screws on hand, they come already built from China. I’ll end up spinning my lathe to fabricate some replacements, but I shouldn’t have too. Save your money, don’t buy. The customer service at United Cutlery wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good either. I just got the feeling that they had my money already, it’s my problem. A simple quality control step in their fulfillment process would have prevented this. I knew within 10 seconds of unsheathing the blade there was issues. You DO NOT want to buy this blade, if you do, just remember, I told you so…

Blade bent, rusty, upon arrival
The sword is of decent quality, handle is somewhat uncomfortable, but that was expected. The lip of the saya also has a noticeable crack that runs around the top. I'm not sure how deep it is, but it's very visible. The sword also came very dull.
