So far so Good....
I need it a port that has a SD and Micro SD Slot and this was the only one I found to my liking. I tested the USB speeds with a similar hub (Anker Brand) ,using USB Drives that are 2.0 and 3.0. and they were only off by 1 or 2 seconds. In one test it beat the Anker brand by 7 seconds. But all other tests the Anker brand won by 1 or 2 seconds. Good enough for me to keep.

Fit and finish is excellent everywhere except the micro B port on the back
Works well on day one. Transfers at full 5gbps of USB 3.0. Fit and finish is excellent everywhere except the micro B port on the back, but that is acceptable and it plugs in, so no biggy. The only thing I dont like about it, is that plugging it in adds 2 icons (E :\ & F:\ drives in my case) to my list of drives. I'm assuming this is because of the SD card readers. Its a bit of an annoyance, but iirc, thats stands ops. New drive icons pop up and disappear like normal with the USB Ports. The USB ports are a little on the tight side. I'm wondering if this will prematurely wear the USB cables/drives that plug into it, over time. At least until the dock itself gets worn in a little. We'll see. No reason right now to down grade it.

Work well until... January 2022 update...
I do enjoy having this hub connected to my desktop since I have an accessible card reader and 3 USB 3.0 ports at my fingertips. They work great for each of these tasks. What I did find is that when you use the USB ports for a keyboard and mouse for many hours they start to have connection issues. By diagnosing the poor connectivity of my mouse I remove the dongle from the hub and placed it into a USB port on the PC itself, this resolved my issues. The issue appears to be that the hub generates lots of heat after being in use for hours and hours with my mouse and keyboard. So for this hub, it is best to use it as a temporary connection point and avoid using it when it heats up after being connected for many hours.Jan2022 - The micro USB slot has died. All other ports work fine and the issue is most likely due to the high usage of my micro USB slot. I have 3D printers and I am constantly inserting and removing micro SD cards. For the price I paid for this device I am still satisfied but I am also disappointed since I will need to replace it with a newer unit.

Requires 5V DC Power Cable (Not Supplied)
This thing has barely worked since I bought it, and stopped working altogether a fews years ago. But I pulled this thing out of my closet because a relative was in the market for something like this, and I decided to try to figure out why mine doesn't work in the hope of fixing it and saving them a buck.I plugged it into my computer and put an SD card into the slot. No surprise, my computer did not detect the SD card, and the story was the same for some USB flash drives.I have always wondered why there was a second slot for a cable connection on this thing, and so I tried plugging in a 5V DC USB power cable that I got for an external CD reader a few months ago. Without doing anything else, my computer detected it.So if you're buying this because of the blatant lie that the seller tells us: "Plug and play; Hot swapping; USB-powered (no external power or battery needed)", save yourself the money and buy a different one that's powered with micro USB or something more accessible than a 5V DC power cable, which isn't supplied by the seller.EDIT: Below is my original review. It's 100% incorrect. I don't know why the phenomenon that I described occurred, but after just about a week of using that cable, the USB hub/SD card reader stopped working.First off, I would like to point out that the cable plugs into the back and not the side, despite what the pictures show. It's better that way because I would rather be able to replace the terrible cord that comes with this product.Secondly, I need to talk about the cable that comes with this product. I believe the wire used for this product can be called "USB 3.0 A to Micro B Cable", but I am unsure. It is a fairly unique connection that I have seen used only with a few types of external HDDs. The wire that came with my hub was loose in the hub and stuck out too far, as if the socket were not long enough to support the connection. This resulted in my computer's detection of this product being touchy at best. I usually had to plug the cable in and out several times to get my desktop to recognize it, and then I would have to hold it perfectly in place while I plugged any USB or SD devices into the hub itself so as not to move the cord and ruin the connection.I ended up replacing the wire that comes with this product with a matching wire a WD Passport External HDD that I've used for years. Interestingly enough, while both wires were identically faulty with their original hardware--meaning that both were incredibly touchy when it came to their connections being properly maintained with my computer--swapping them has made them work flawlessly.Long story short, this product works fine, but the cord provided worked terribly for me. I was lucky to have another of this fairly unique cable type lying around to be able to replace it.

Exactly What I Was Looking For
I wanted something to plug into my dock and leave on my desk that will accept USB A (3.0) and SD cards while allowing my dock to stay hidden. This fits the bill and seems to be well made and works perfectly. I will say the cord is rather short, but I fixed that with a USB extension cord I had around.

Great device
I recently bought a HP All-In-One computer and, while I was very happy with the computer overall, I was frustrated with the location of the USB and SD card slots. They are located on the back on the unit so that the screen must be turned around to access them. This device was a perfect solution. It extends the ports around to the front and sits perfectly on the center of the PC stand for easy access. So far I've used it for USB memory sticks, SD card from my camera and my USB portable DVD drive. All worked fine! Seems like a solid product.

Works great connected to a computer, wont work with a usb extension cord
I bought this to connect a 1TB Sandisk Extreme SSD to my 75” Sony 4K HDR TV that is mounted on the wall and all the cables/cords are run behind the wall. I use a 10’ USB 3.1 extension cable. Nothing will work in the hub even with the power supply connected to it, I can unplug the hub and connect my SSD drive to the extension cable and it works great. I can use the hub connected to my computer and it works great. Something about the extension cord won’t let it connect even with the power supply, and I have tried 2 different hubs
