This kit is wonderful. Solid molding detail, perfect part fit, no flash, clear instructions and zero headaches.Note that the Tamiya zimmerit was purchased separately and the application process took almost as much time as the build itself. I had to do a lot of creative cutting & fixing to get the zimmerit to fit. Some areas were a bit "sloppy" which is frankly OK in my opinion because it ended up being unique with the imperfections. You will also need a bit of superglue to secure some areas of the zimmerit to the model prior to painting.This model is about 95% complete, as there are always additional touch ups to be done - namely more pin wash in certain areas along with some painting refinements to the figures.I'm so glad that I finally purchased this kit after thinking about it for years.

Looks like a real good kit, but I haven't built it yet.

One of the best things about the Tamiya company is that they don't just produce models of the most famous or popular military vehicles. They go into the historical archives and create highly accurate and detailed reproductions of things like this, the ill-fated German "Elefant" of World War II. It looks cool, so I guess that helps. But it's amazing what you can find if you search their catalog. This is an excellent addition to my son's model collection and has given him many hours of enjoyment as he has painted and built it. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed assembling this model. The parts fit together nicely as expected. I would have liked the track to rotate but it was made of hard plastic sections. I assume this was to give it the particular look/sag of the actual track.

Not much to say that hasn't been covered. Classic Tamiya quality.
