This product is great. It was actually recommended by my emergency vet when I brought my two puppies to the emergency hospital for vomiting and diarrhea. They received iv fluids and an injection for vomiting. They were already on special diets for protein allergy, probiotics, propectalin which is for diarrhea and reglan which is for reflux. So the emergency vet suggested this psyllium husk. She actually said Metamucil but I found it had too many chemicals in it and my puppies only weighed 5 lbs and 6 lbs. when I found this on amazon and it had all natural ingredients I thought it would be perfect. Of course I wasn’t expecting the jar to be so huge! But I’m glad it is. It will last for months. I give them a 1/4 tsp every morning and it works! The diarrhea has stopped! But the smell is bad! It smells like pure dirt! But I mix it with my dog’s food and I think my pups eat their food faster because they love the taste but dogs practically eat anything! This is actually made for humans. I have IBS but I’m afraid to use it because one I think the smell alone would make me vomit and two I have such a sensitive stomach. But if you have a dog or cat with a sensitive stomach I highly recommend using it but I would ask your vet first. It really works!

Psyllium husk is amazing, my bowels are happy, my mouth isn't, unfortunately. It really work, but DO NOT just use water to drink it. The texture makes me gag, as it does turn gelatinous with rougher, sandpaper-y residue. I'd give this 5 stars for how well it works (if you use it DAILY), -1 star for texture/taste. I'm going to take another reviewer's suggestion and mix with V8 or something heavier to see how that works
