Fabulous book
A fabulous book! I pre ordered and was not expecting to receive it until February (living down under has drawbacks)however it arrived in time to bring on holiday, the time I get to sew the most. I am keen to try many of the projects, though I may not always include linen in them. The book is beautifully illustrated with lots of diagrams. I have started to make the tote, and whilst triangles are not my favourite patchwork pursuit, the instructions and digrams are a huge help. I have lots of craft books and I may not make all the items but it is a book that I will enjoy browsing for many years to come and a book I will gain inspiration from.

Zakka Style is Fabulous
Zakka Style is really one of the best project books in a long time. I have made 2 of the projects so far and have had great success. Her inspirational pictures are so current - and the projects are great sizes and leave room for your own creativity. Most of the projects give you a great jumping off place to go ahead and make more with your own twist on them. I just finished my first Tweed Pouch with a zipper installed between the outer fabric and the lining. It is great! I can't wait to make more.

Great sewing book COMPILED BY Rashida Coleman
Rashida Coleman-Hale's first book, I Love Patchwork: 21 Irresistible Zakka Projects to Sew is a favorite of mine and her palette pin cushion is one of my most used and prized sewing items. So when her new book came out I was hitting refresh four times a day at the library website hoping to see it arrive. Well, it never did so I bought it, sight unseen, brewed myself a cup of tea and settled in to devour it thoroughly. My first reaction was shock and disappointment as the book is compiled by Rashida, the projects are not hers. Once I stopped freaking out I calmed down enough to realize that this is a GREAT book full of the sort of things you would expect this author to associate her name and reputation with. The projects all have an abundance of zakka style and pair natural linen with funky modern, bright fabrics. They run the gamut from coasters to quilts with a lot of interesting additions like a bread carrying bag and hand warmers. While none of the projects vary too much from things I've seen before - I read a lot of books featuring this style - I love having so many high-quality instructions in one place and I can easily image making several of the patterns this spring. For me, that's the sign of a very good book.I'd class this intermediate or very motivated beginner level. I know several of the projects look a little daunting for me to try with my current skill set.

Fun Zakka Style
This book is really creatively inspiring. It has a lot of fun ideas and designs you can make with the newest Japanese rage of Zakka Style. Unlike other books people are complaining about this one had lots of instructions (in English) and I could clearly understand what they want me to do! Zakka seems to be a really mixed media/pattern in textiles type of art and has the "cute" factor that Japan seems to have and I am attracted to. If you are as well and looking for something new and different to try this might be for you. It is a hit in this household.

Mostly sits on the shelf
I grabbed this book being swept along by my growing love of international sewing books (Shape Shape, Freestyle Skirts and Handbags, etc.). The book is styled beautifully, but none of the projects really grabbed my attention, or made me think "WOW! Gotta make that!!" I would recommend this to folks who want to work on their hand stitching skills, or have small projects to carry with them while they travel, or grab small amounts of time waiting in doctors' offices and the like. These are certainly little projects that grant quick gratification! I do love the use of natural fibers, the photos are lovely and the instructions quite easy to follow. I also love that these small little projects give one a great chance to show off small scraps of lovely materials, or for new sewists to try out new techniques on a small scale. I love small, pretty things, but would have liked more from this book.

Big Style
Big style in a small package! 24 projects fill the pages -- from totes to potholders, quilts to coasters, sewing cases to frames -- you'll find a ton of inspirtion. Common items are elevated to art form! My favorite project is the nesting boxes: cute storage plus this one would make a great gift. The projects are adaptable and fun. As a bonus, there lots of stash-busting projects. Lots of bang for the buck!

Love it
I was waiting with baited breath for this book and am so pleased to finally have it in my greedy little hands! The book is comprised of projects completed by different Zakka sewers. Some have their own blogs and others Etsy shops. The sewn items are beautiful and functional... The layout is visually appealing and instructions appear to be clear and easy to follow. Looking forward to getting in to some sewing from this book!

Cute Japanses Patchwork Zakka Projects - Easy to Follow Instructions, Nice Variety
Zakka Style is a book of craft projects in the Japanese Zakka or patchwork style. There is a good range of projects in this book from simple to more complex, and the instructions are pretty easy to follow. I would not recommend getting this book in Kindle format as it is a bit hard to follow the diagrams and patterns and instructions in that format.

Easy, quick, personal.
Good for all abilities, simple but desirable. Great for teenage sewers. Terrific as a starting point to excite and delight. My grandmother would have been trilled!

Love this book! And this lady!
Simple, lovely and functional projects that are Zakka style inspired. The photos are great, the projects are simple and fun. The mix of plain linen fabrics and bright fun prints make these projects great. I've made many of the projects and hope to work my way through the whole book.
