I used this kit to repair an old floor lamp that I had. It was perfect for the job. No instructions come with this kit so pay attention to how the old one is put together when taking it apart. I had to use some of the old parts because the kit parts did not fit the old lamp but it all came together nicely. The problem with my old lamp was the old socket and cord and the new ones in the kit fit perfectly. Had i known that first, I wouldn't have needed to buy the whole kit, but live and learn. Anyway, this is a good kit to use to restore an old lamp and bring it back to life. I would recommend it.

Lamp broke. Kit allowed fix. Easy.

Up front, this is a very nice kit, but I was disappointed in the quality of the lamp socket itself given the price of the kit. It seems pretty thin and a bit on the flimsy side. That said it went together perfectly, I like the fact that it had an extra long cord, and the instructions were pretty straightforward, and in a large font for my old eyes. Even with my 10 thumbs, I was able to install this kit in less than an hour and saved the $70 plus long drive it would’ve taken to get a nearby lamp shop to do the same thing. Just make sure to touch a circuit tester to all of the metal parts on the socket and lampshade metal after you install it – just to be safe.

Used this kit to rewire a vintage hanging lamp. We didn’t need all the pieces obviously, but it contained everything we did need. The color of cord is very nice and neutral, and still keeps the vintage feel. So glad it helped bring an old statement piece back to life.

I never knew it was a thing to rewire an old lamp but after finding an adorable lamp at a yard sale I knew I had to figure something out because the cord was literally chewed through. I will not claim that this was an easy task to do but that may have been because I’d never done it before! It worked and it was so worth the $20 investment for both the yard sale lamp and the retro kit.

Arrived quickly and had all parts as listed, actually more than I needed. Was easy to use, although the directions were a bit vague. Helped me bring an antique lamp back to life. Very happy with this purchase
