This product is pretty universal.
I repair cars and paint as a hobby on the side from my full time job. I have a lot of experience behind a paint gun with automotive paints. I’m getting more into show quality paint jobs, but like other businesses looking to save money and cut costs. House of Kolors will tell you to only mix this with their paints. I bought a $50 bottle of this just out of curiosity to play. Long review short - this is basically a dye and seems to work with cheaper alternatives. I mixed this into a cheap local suppliers clear coat and it works fine. No reactions or adhesion problems. I also mixed this directly into a cheap basecoat just to see and had the same result. I used an 8:1 ratio. So my clear coat (which I wouldn’t recommend, just use a clear basecoat) is 4:1. I mixed 8 parts clear to 1 part kk11 and then 2 parts of the catalyst for the clear. I will use a clear basecoat next time. Basecoat is thinner and sprays better, but you can mix this in clear. From the trials I’ve ran, I would say just stick to urethane based products and you can create a candy paint job with your stock paints and you don’t need to stick with all house of Kolor products. The only downfall is if the paint fails, House of Kolors won’t cover their product.
