Necessary evil
They aren't cheap, but, they work and keep my machine running. I want to keep my expensive machine in top working order so I use and replace regularly. I live in a very hard water area, without the filter I would have to frequently run vinegar or other de-calcifier. These filters obviate that need.

Picked up the Krups Claris F088 filter pack for my coffee machine, and they work perfectly. Water tastes noticeably cleaner, and I haven’t had any scale build-up since switching. Easy to pop in and replace – no faffing about. Only downside is the price – a bit steep for three filters, but worth it if you want your coffee tasting right. Overall, simple, effective, and hassle-free.
