Brickyard Building Blocks 177 Pieces Large Building Block Toys for Children Ages 1.5-5, Bulk Block Set, Compatible with Duplo (177 pcs)

Did research on the few other generic brand of legos here on Amazon before purchasing this set. I couldn't really determine which one was best to choose from so decided to try my luck with this set because of the 5 star review. (I know, hard to trust these reviews but what did I have to lose? Im buying generic legos here.) In addition, I bought the set of 4 (10x10) green base plates of the same brand, which they fit easily on. I super glued all 4 plates on a 20 x 20 table. I was aiming to make a large scale building with these.At first i wish it had more of a selection in pieces such as the Dreambuilder Toys set (1000 pcs) that comes with wheels, rotary pieces, etc. But after trying to figure out what to build, i realized with having so many different kinds of pieces, the scale of your project may not look as big as you thought. With the pieces that came with this set, i was only really able to build the outer wall of a castle may be at 16 x 10 x 10 inches. By then all my large brick pieces had been used. All that were left were the small pieces. The roof pieces at best could cover a small house building. I suggest buying may be 2000 - 3000 pcs to build a large structure on a 20 x 20 base. This 1000 pcs would be good for several small structures.Confirming also that they are compatible with the lego classics. The only thing that i found difficult was trying to attach the base plates from the classics on to the generic plates i purchased. But i just decided not to use the old classic plates at all.Other than that, I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely purchase more from them in the future. I just hope they would offer more sets with different piece selections.

We bought these as a cheaper alternative to legos. And we didn’t want one item LEGO objects. To get a variety LEGO bucket is ridiculously expensive. We bought this for affordability and number of bricks. They are great. Although with 10 colors (the eleventh is one of two roof colors) there may be too many colors. For example, there are 60 2x3 bricks. A great number. But because there are ten colors, there are only 6 of each color. Still they work great, they are economical and the company seems to care. Upon order I got an email asking if everything went well. Both on this order and the stem kit we ordered from brickyard. So far I’m happy with the company. My mother in law got the complementary (please don’t read this as complimentary) wheels set. We had a minor issue and are waiting to hear back.The only negative about this set is there aren’t the wheels, doors, or windows. Or plants. You have to buy those packages separately. But for what it is, 1100 bricks at an affordable price, you can’t go wrong. I really like this company (we started buying with the stem kit)...affordable and good quality. If you’re looking for more”LEGO” construction bricks to add to your collection, you’ll want to give this a try

Used these for a group craft, and the way the blocks were packaged with like pieces grouped together was wonderful! Saved me so much time. The quality of the pieces were great. Will definitely be buying again!

I wanted some Lego bricks for my grandkids to play with while visiting us. Those prices, though!! I decided to go with Brickyard products after looking at all the Lego alternatives. I got this car set and their biggest box of bricks. Also, got four baseplates and attached them to a parsons table. They fit perfectly. I didn't know Lego baseplates had rounded corners, so do not fit tightly together. These are not rounded and snuggled closely together, plus they are thicker than Lego brand. I also realized the bottoms of the baseplates are made to use with the blocks, too! You can build two, three, four story cities or houses! As for the car set we made far more cars than I thought. One steering column was missing, but the pieces are so tiny, I doubt this one piece will be missed (in other words, they will all go missing). The tire assemblages don't stay very well on the underside of the bricks. Not sure if this also occurs with Lego brand, but it is kind of annoying. My grandkids have yet to come and play with them, but I am sure they will love them.

This was the perfect gift for my nephew. He loves creating things. The brickyard building blocks along with the windows, doors, fence and lamp post kit was the perfect gift and combination. This is only a start to his creativity. It was a bit pricy but way less than original LEGO. It's a great buy for growing creatives. I certainly recommend it. lots of pieces with different functions and very colorful.
