Just What I Needed
I was very tired of dragging my (HEAVY) pellet grill/smoker in and out of the garage and patio. It has wheels on one end but you have to lift the other end to move it. So I set out looking for wheels. At first I decided to replace the 6" wheels with 10" which would raise the grill by 2". Then I could add 2" locking casters on the other end. I could just roll it around and then lock the casters. Problem solved until I started looking for 10" wheels that would fit my grill and finding casters that would attach to hollow steel legs. While I was searching I came across these "Step Down" casters and thought that they make work better. I had to buy a set of 4 when I only needed 2 but that was still cheaper than replacing the wheels and adding casters, So OK... I'll try them out.As usual I got my order quickly and sat down to get them installed. They come with wood screws for installation which would do nothing for me so I bought some 1/4"-14X1" self tapping metal screws. I followed the instruction and drilled pilot holes for the screws and installed the caster mounting plates. Then attached the 2 casters and Bingo... Installed without a problem! These are very heavy duty casters and really roll well across concrete. It took about 30 minutes to install them And they work perfectly. They lift the grill legs about 1/2" off the ground and it now rolls very easily. Let them back down and it's nice and level. All in all, I am very happy with them and strongly recommend them.

Genius Solution
Love these casters, exactly what I was looking for, an easy install solution to moving a table without having to remove everything from the table and install "under the leg" style casters. These casters are so much better than permanent casters too because after moving the table you can set the legs back down for a totally stable table without any chance of the table moving.Super easy to install and made from quality materials. I must admit that when I ordered these I knew I was going to be attaching them to a table that was probably way more than the limit stated in the description but I was prepared to take the risk for the simplicity of the installation alone. My workbench was handmade and probably weighs at least 1000 lbs including the CNC machine and stored wood. I have to say that once installed the wheels worked like a charm without any signs of struggling to manouvre any way I turned it, to say I was absolutle delighted with my purchase would be an understatement. The only thing I did differently was to use 3" lug screws in the bottom hole locations due to the excessive strain that I knew I would be putting on the casters but other that that they worked brilliant and are a superb design for easy solution to moving a large table without the hassel. The clearance is just enough to move the table and then release to return the table to a sturdy surface.I will definitely purchase several sets for other tables and equipment that require occsasional moving. Genius, pure genius!

So far so good...
I bought these instead of Rockler's higher priced version. They seem to be almost identical. At the time I bought these Rockler's were on sale for $49.99 for the set of 4, but they also charge a shipping fee and the wait would have been longer. These were $39.99 and seemed to be of equal value but a lot less expensive. I am usually one that goes with a more expensive product but I thought I would give these a try.I installed them on a 4' x 6' outfeed table that easily weighs 100 lbs. or more (I store some extra wood on the underside). So far the operation has been smooth. Wheels roll smoothly and when in the locked position (down) there is no movement at all. So, it appears it is doing the job.I gave it 4 stars only because I've only had them on a little over a week. If all goes well I will update the rating to 5 stars.Pleased so far.

Modify this product for heavy loads.
This product works better than expected. I am using it on a 600 pound workbench. Others have commented on the undersize mounting screws provided. Here's what you need to do for a successful project on something this heavy. 1) Mortise the legs of your project to fit the part. 2) Drill out the top single hole to 5/16 inch. 3) Drill two new 5/16 inch holes one on either side of the existing bottom hole which you will not use. 4) Use three 5/16" x 3" lag screws to mount the part. Please note that there is substantial polling force on the two bottom screws with a heavy load. The workbench rolls easily. Seller should provide adequate larger screws and extra mounting holes and they would get much better reviews.

Works as well as advertised for my 500+lb mobile base! Only issue: included screws are trash
These are excellent once the screws are replaced with proper fasteners. I can land my tandem table saw setup anywhere and it is rock solid, then when I want to rip wider than 36" or stock up to 18' I can easily raise, roll and drop it at the garage doorway slab edge. My determined 35lb 3 year old son was able to step on and raise the last of four wheels which was directly under the Unisaw, I'm guessing 25-35 lbs of force was needed. I secured these 1/4" higher than recommended (reducing the overall lift distance or clearance) because I'm only rolling over an even slab and it lowers the generated dropping force.I wonder If these would be able to do 1000lbs or more with the right fasteners or bolting through, depending or your situation limitations could possibly be how hard it is to step on the levers or the dropping force and resulting stresses.I was quite hesitant on this purchase and after pouring over all the choices I ended up very happy with these. They will not disappoint if you have realistic expectations and replace the fasteners with something sensible.
