Pride Over Pity

I am not a fan any longer, and I'm honestly really shocked by this book...it was very poorly written and a TOTAL pity party! I was a fan of Kailyn up until this point, but after getting 60% through the book...I could no longer handle her bad attitude and I had to delete it from my Kindle. I feel terrible that life has dealt her such hard knocks and I do hope that her future brightens, but she's doing nothing in this book other than trying to garner attention and begging the world to help boost her poor self esteem. The girl has jumped from boy to boy, always searching for affirmation in others, yet she always tries to reassure her readers how "sure" of herself she is. Kailyn, we've all been through our share of heartaches...the difference is that we don't all blame everyone around us for our faults in a book in which we are trying to profit.

I finished this book in a day and I must say, I was impressed. I was a little skeptical of the reviews, so I went ahead and bought this so I could gain some reading material. I enjoyed this book and I loved it. As a teen mom myself I know exactly what the author was going through. I felt like I could relate to Kailyn so much and I only know her from television. Although I have not been watching Teen Mom 2, I can imagine what goes through the mind of a mother. I didn't have much parental figures throughout my life, except for my grandparents, so I know where Kailyn is coming from with the feeling that she didn't have her parents with her throughout her life.I felt like I was looking through a mirror, although there were some things I could not relate to, I was on board the moment I read this book from beginning to end. I loved reading 'Pride over Pity' more than I did watching Teen Mom 2. There were some parts in the book that made me a little envious, but I will not go into detail about that. I laughed and I smiled at some of the aspects of the entire book and hope that one day I can put my story out there for others to read.Excellent book. Totally not a waste of money.

This is a different side of Kail we don't see on TV. She seems to be hostile and headstrong in front of the camera. Rightfully so. That's a new stress on different levels! This was a neat read, as it gives her side of her story. I learned things not mentioned and highlighted on TV. I have a different outlook on her now. I've always felt she was the strongest, most mature TM2 member, and now I understand more as to why I feel that way. This book doesn't disappoint. It does make me sad to know, 6 years later, she and Javi are no longer together, but it was fun to read about how smitten she was over him and her little family in the beginning. I feel MTV depicted her as cold and harsh towards Javi over their separation and divorce. That always irked me. Kail is a beast! I'm so glad I chose to read this! Thank you, Kail, for opening up and sharing these insights with your fans!

I think its lame. There isnt much we dont know about kail, except for her date rape, that would be worth buying this or her new hustle book. You'll feel hustled if you bought these books because she repeats both stories like a mirror. Not worth it.

I give books a chance, I really do. The beginning was gripping but lost that appeal after that. It sounded more like whining about things instead of what her attempted point was---to show she triumphed over turmoil. I was pretty dissapointed.

I like this book. It was an easy read, and it helped me understand her better by reading this book. There were some parts that I wouldn't recommend for someone who is big on religion, but other than that I thought it was a good book. I would recommend this book to any teen mom fan that wants to know a little bit more about the her.

I decided to read this book because I do watch MTV's Teen Mom 2 and followed kailyn through what producers allowed us viewers to sees but I was very curious about what goes on behind the scences and some truths because I am a firm believer in we only see what they want us to see. I learned about Kail as a real person not just a tv star and I respect her more for it. As for how the book was written. I defiantly have to say terrible. Grammar was a big miss and the book didn't seem to have a plot line. It seemed to me that she was randomly trying to get her side if the story out and kind of rambled, plus all of the awkward movie references....

It was okay. I purchased the book when it was on sale for kindle. It took me a while to read because I was drawn into it like some fictional novels. I enjoyed her insight. I will say I've watched the teen mom shows off an on. She is an interesting person and I commend her for all she has done for herself and child(ren).

Finished in one sitting, couldn’t put it down I’ve followed all the teen moms from the very beginning and continue to do so! There are times I’ve thought of kail as hardfaced however after reading this book I see why she hold such a strong exterior such a credit to her now 3 boys & bump

Brought for a Christmas present so have not read it. Looks gd. Delivery was good

What a great read, it is well written. Opens your eyes to issues that others face. Hopefully Kail's story will help others in her position

This was such a great read x well done Kail. So sad that it's done, might just read all over again.
