Purchased twice already, best beginner/introductory set I’ve ever had. Has every color you need

This is my first paint purchase on Amazon and it is a gift, and I was a little nervous about the quality. When my girlfriend finally got a chance to try them out, she was highly impressed! She said the texture was perfect and loaded well on her brushes, and application was smooth as silk. I had the chance to see some of her new pieces, and I was pleased with the colors. Very rich and vibrant, and the color remained consistent after drying.The only thing that caught me off-guard was the size of the tubes. They were smaller than I imagined, but they were accurately described on the product page, so no loss of stars for that. My girlfriend assured me the amount of paint was adequate for a few paintings, and after considering the sheer amount of variety, it really is a good deal. She seems very happy at the opportunity to try a lot of colors she hasn't used before, and she can purchase bigger tubes of the colors she wants more of.Overall a very good purchase, and great for beginners as well as serious artists!

These paints are wonderful. I have painted in other mediums before but was a little intermediated by oil paints. These paints are so easy to work with and the colors are so vibrant. I'm very pleased with my purchase.I also want to say I'm very pleased with Pegasus Guild's customer service. I contacted them to let them know that I had a duplicate color in my set. Kate N asked me for a picture of the duplicate tubes. Right away she said they would send me a replacement. That was Wednesday evening (07/01/20) and today, Friday (07/03/20), I received a 12-tube set that has my missing color in it. I will definitely order from this company again.

These paints are pretty good. I started painting again after 30+ yrs. ( New Year’s resolution ) I always enjoyed painting in oils so when I decided to start painting again, I didn’t want to invest a whole lot of money ( in cases I sucked ! )So I decided to just buy cheap starter sets. I have to admit , I’m doing quit well and this set is pretty good …well, atleast much better than the first couple sets ( 2 ) I bought.It has a good thickness n blends very well. I’ve bought this set twice now. Enjoy

This paint kit was a really good value for the price. The paints are all good quality, and butter smooth. They blend wonderfully, and work really well for Bob Ross's "ala prima" method. The colors are vibrant, I had to tone them down to create the overcast look I was going for in the picture. Overall, really really pleased with this kit and will likely purchase more paints from this seller.

For the beginner, or for the person just starting off in oil painting, you should find most of the colors you will need at the beginning. You will also find that the paints are nice and creamy, that they cover the canvas well, and are a joy to use and experiment with. The set does NOT include Alarizin Crimson, so if you are like me and doing intricate portrait work, you will need to purchase a tube separately. Please bear in mind that this set is for the beginner artist, or to supplement an artist's current collection of paints, and that these tubes are somewhat small. As you learn more about painting, you will want to purchase all your tubes of oil paints in larger-size tubes, and you will learn that you need to buy all your shades of WHITE in one-pound sizes simply because you will find that you use white more than other shades. For the price, it is great for yourself, or would make a nice stocking stuffer for that artist you know.

Larger paints & basically free brushes included. Half of the price if purchased at local big name craft retail store.
