A Premium Upgrade to Flimsy Foil Duct Hoses
I originally went cheap and purchased a flimsy flexible dryer duct hose. Repeatedly, after connecting the dryer exhaust to the vent, under the air pressure created from the blower, the flexible hose would expand like a possessed inch worm behind the dryer until it stretched out to its full length. Given the tight space in the laundry room, I needed a long dryer duct hose, but I also needed it to stay compressed once I pushed the dryer back in place. This Builder's Best kit may cost more that the cheap hoses, but it was well worth the cost because it was so easy to install and it stayed in place after the dryer was pushed against the wall. The "secret" is that the ends of the 90 degree elbow are able to rotate which allows easy positioning when the dryer is pulled out. In addition, the hose is stiff enough to hold its shape as it's pushed against the wall. Where the cheap hose would bend and kink and restrict the airflow, the Builder's Best hose is very rigid and can easily hold a 90 degree turn.I wish I bought this years ago. Our clothes are even drying faster due to the unrestricted airflow provided by the stiff, yet pliable, dryer vent hose. It's well worth the additional cost.

Last longer and stays cleaner during use
Works better than a accordion style, which is easier to puncture, and this item also provides straight smooth path for discharge to exit, keeping it cleaner.

Recommend
This was a little difficult to install and wasn't as long as we needed but we couldn't find a longer one. It's thick and sturdy. It looks nice. Seal is so so, we ended up using a difficult dryer vent take at the connecting point to exhaust housing however connection to the dryer itself appears to be good.

Good replacement for flexible dryer duct
I used this to replace a flexible dryer duct that was well past it's prime. This duct is much more solid. The included elbow made installation onto the back of my old whirlpool dryer very simple and the included clamps did the job. Had a bit of trouble attaching it to the vent heading to the exterior. I think they were both 4" diameter. Maybe a better crimp would help? Could also be I have an odd sizes vent. Either way, it worked after a lot of wiggling. Feels very solid and much easier to get on and off the back of the dryer. No more accidentally poking my finger through the foil trying to get a solid connection. Great value for the money.Made a few small indentations in the pipe trying to expand it to the 6 or so feet I needed, but nothing to bad.

Works great for a easy, clean, tight fit for dryer to exhaust pipe
I now have 6.5 inches and great airflow from dryer to wall outlet, less interference for gathering dust and better fire rating and durability than a using a cheap foil hose. Simply connect the elbow that comes with this hose to your exhaust pipe on your dryer. Then I added an elbow (builder's best brand from amazon) to the other end to connect hose to my exhaust on the wall. Don't buy the small elbow at HD or Lowes, not enough room on the end to attach a solid clamp. Clamp all four connector points for strengh. You can stretch the hose out to give yourself some more slack if needed (so you can push the dryer back to the wall comfortably. A bit of length for loop going up then down from the dryer to the outlet won't hurt drying performance. I used to mistakenly think that the shorter the hose the better and straight from dryer to outlet pipe would be better, however, with this part, it but it does not matter, you still get the same airflow from a bit of a longer quality hose. The clearance from widest part of my dryer to wall is now 6.5 inches. This should last a lifetime. HTH!

Heat proof
Perfect for use in my dryer l live in a condominium and there is no external venting for my dryer so I used this duct in conjunction with a dryer vent kit mounted on my wall, this duct also comes with a 90 degree bend exiting my dryer for a smooth flow to the dryer kit mounted on the wall ,be careful of which type of duct you use as those flexible foil type duct can accumulate clumps of lint and cause a fire because those ducts are constructed of cheap materials and has a accordion design where lint get caught between the folds, yes this duct is pricey But safer

Sturdy, but hard to get the elbow to stay on...
like:Seems sturdy. priced reasonable. arrived when promised. Easy to trim. Did the job. Got it to extend by myself by gently bending around my waist then gently bending it the opposite direction. (several times on each section)dislike:just as other reviewers have said, aluminum tape will be your friend when installing this product securely.difficult to attach to my old Kenmore dryer where dryer pipe sticks straight out from lower middle of dryer. With the elbow all the way on, no matter how I positioned the clamp, there is barely any room to tighten the clamp screw that attaches the elbow to the dryer pipe and had to try many times before I felt it might stay on...was a bit easier after taking the tube off the elbow...I still used aluminum tape though, to make sure it stayed put on dryer in case clamp jarred loose. I aluminum taped the elbow to the dryer, I aluminum taped the seams in the elbow and the edges to prevent any possible lint leakage. I ended up splicing a short section of my old semi-rigid vent pipe to this one, (i misjudged the length i needed), and it was easy to do. FYI I did clean out the old section of vent pipe before reusing and of course, used more aluminum tape on the seams where the two pipe pieces came together. all in all it works so far. I am not sure that I would buy this brand again, though, simply because of the difficulty in attaching to dryer. Their metal adapter appeared slightly shorter than my old one, so am not sure if it's a design issue, or needing a slightly smaller clamp, or just that its really made for much newer dryers. I most likely will go to brick and mortar store to buy my next one. I don't think just attaching an elbow to your dryer, regardless of the dryer age should be as difficult as I experienced.
