So good!
I am not a coffee drinker, so this was a great alternative! The flavor is really good. Even better when you add a tbsp of butter and a tbsp of coconut oil.Definitely will buy again!

It's delicious!
I was seeing ads for this product pop up on FB so I was intrigued. But,I don't order directly from FB ads (I was burned once so never again). I was a bit skeptical, but I decided that for $15.00 it was worth taking a chance. It came in on time and I immediately made a cup (using a French Press for the first time). I used 2 TBL of the cacao and 8 oz of water. I let it steep for about 5 mintes and the aroma was terrific! I am on a low salt/diabetic diet so to be able to have something as tasty as this that satisfies my desire to have some chocolate for just 20 cal and 3 carbs is a real treat. This morning I used the 2 tbl with 12 ox of water and let it steep a little longer and it w as still delicious. I do not add any sweetener or milk.

Tastes great!
This is the second Crio Bru product I’ve tried and the first, the Venezuelan medium roast, is a hard act to follow. I will admit I was very put off by the scent of this in the bag. The Venezuelan smells like a chocolate bar in the bag and this has a funky odor, so I was skeptical about how it would taste. I needn’t have worried, though. Once brewed with a French press following the directions on the package and with just a little sugar and cream added, the flavor of this is excellent. Maybe not as rich as the Venezuelan, but still so good I immediately wanted to brew a second cup! The four stars is only because of that initial aroma.

Clogs Filters
It tastes okay, but is a mess to clean up. It clogs paper filters.A different “grind” consistency might help.

Wonderful product. Try it and you might develop a delicious habit
This is a delicious beverage. If trying for the first time, you need to keep in mind that it won't directly compare to other beverages you may know such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. And that's the point--if it were like them, we wouldn't need this product! If you follow the instructions this will yield a satisfying beverage, a little bitter, a little chocolatey, and customizable depending on how much sweetener, creamer, and other add-ons you put in. Delicious hot or cold.- Ecuador Light Roast (this one) is light-bodied. It smells chocolatey, sweet, and floral out of the pack. When you brew it, it is the least bitter of all the Crio Bru options. Refreshing, you could even drink it on its own. Good for those looking for a subtle chocolate taste and a light, tea-like texture.- Venezuela Medium Roast. It also smells chocolatey, but with nutty/malty notes. Medium body when brewed, richer than the Light Roast, more bitter and also more acidic. I found this the most acidic of them all. Very satisfying with sweetener, creamer, and a dash of maca powder.- Ghana French Roast. Smells roasty and burned. This is the closest to coffee. Full-bodied and very bitter, needs creamer and sugar. Really good iced!My favorite brew is to mix some Ecuador Light and Ghana French Roast. This lets me control the taste and body better. Half and half will yield a cup that is rich and full-bodied while also having sweeter chocolatey notes from the Light Roast.Follow their instructions for the proportion of grounds to water. I have brewed using a French press and results are good. I also tried brewing in a mug and straining the grounds using a tea sieve. This last method yields a much richer brew (with the French press, some of the sludgy goodness is caught in the grounds), although you can feel the sludge at the bottom (it doesn't bother me) and it can get messy. But it tastes so much more satisfying. Brewing time is long no matter which method so I often pop my mug in the microwave for 30 seconds to make it piping hot again.PS. Crio Bru, your package says your product is not addictive, but I respectfully disagree. I've been drinking this for only a couple of months and I can't go a day without one or two cups.

Excellent PM caffeine substitute
First off, on it's own this stuff is delicious and I wish it was a common staple of cafes like coffee and tea. Just note that it's a hot-brew-only. You can brew it hot and then cool it and serve cold and it tastes good, but you need to pour boiling water on it and let it steep for 5 minutes (I use a french press) to get the taste.I'm a little sensitive to caffeine, especially if I drink it after 2-3pm. This contains theobromide, not caffeine, which isn't addictive because it isn't a CNS stimulant. So it's a great subtle pick-me-up that won't mess with your sleep or leave you craving more coffee the next day.

Yuck. Just….yuck.
I believed the hype. The reviews talk about how good it tastes. Blech. Terrible. Not anywhere near chocolate. If you like super watery cocoa flavored tan water then yeah, go for it.I’d rather chew a shoe.

I’m hooked!
I don’t tolerate caffeine very well so coffee is out, and black tea isn’t any better. I have been exploring different types of tea with less caffeine for an alternative. But having found Cri Bru Cacao, it’s now my go-to favorite instead of iced tea or coffee. I add non dairy milk and a tiny bit of vanilla sweetener and it’s so good! I’m waiting for the temps to go down before trying it hot and may even try Bailey’s Irish Cream in place of the milk for an evening by the fire. It does provide a little boost of energy, but nothing like a full-on caffeine buzz so if that’s what you need to survive this may not cut it for you.

Great alternative to coffee and for those who prefer a milder brew
I can no longer drink coffee due to a rare coffee allergy. As I preferred milder coffees (such as Starbucks Pike Place), this blend is perfect and a great alternative to tea. I made it according to instructions using a French Press and love it. I don’t throw out the used grounds right away as I often want another cup later on. When I do crave another cup, I add another tbsp of the grounds to those already in the press, add the boiling water and proceed as usual. Although cacao has many health benefits, you can consume too much of a good thing. Two cups is okay for me but three cups got my tummy all rumbly after an hour or so even though I drank it a few hours after the second cup. (Oops).

Different, but good
I’m not a huge coffee drinker so bitter drinks are a bit of an acquired taste. But if your into less fruity tasting hot drinks this was pretty good. Add some sugar and the chocolate flavour comes out nicely. Bag smells amazing

The cacao taste is not strong
Looks like a high quality product. Unfortunately it’s made with cacao shell instead of powder which makes the taste more subdle. Very healthy though!

Doubled in Price??
This was good, but I can't believe the price hike! I found this product from a facebook ad, and I guess they spent too much on marketing and they are trying to make up for it. The same size organic dutch cocoa is less than half the price. I will not be re-buying at this cost. Since I got used to the taste and I quite liked it as a nice alternative to coffee, I will start using cocoa powder mixed with hot water or cold milk. I guess thank you Criobrew for making me realize that this is good :) I guess I could even 'roast' it for that missing coffee-like taste the same way I would roast almonds. If you are like me and coffee gives you acid reflex, Splurge on Dutch cocoa. It's PH balanced and much cheaper than this. I was a bit surprised at the size, for a reference it's about half of the size of a pound of Starbucks coffee, so about 4x as expensive. Tastes good though. A bit watery if you are used to string coffee. I used to mix it with Dutch cocoa. Now I will just have the cocoa.
