Excellent versatile, perfectly designed parka for town and country
Excellent material, perfect tailoring, thoughtful and technical features highlight the Woolrich Transition series parka. I am a size 50,5-10, 34/35 sleeves and XXL fits perfectly. Parka features ample hand warmer and snap flap front pockets, snap flap chest pocket and a zippered chess pocket with a snap interior pocket too. All nylon and cotton. Snap storm flap over metal zipper. Jacket shell is a softer, thicker, non crinkle nylon definitely designed to be wind and water resistant. Attached soft Woolrich signature plaid cotton lined hood;upper body is cotton lined also while the remainder is nylon lined. Technical design allows you to tightly button up to your chin and a velcro strip adjusts the hood for really stormy days around town, on campus or out in the woods. Drawstring at waist and dual wrist buttons also help deal with colder weather. Woolrich sedate metal logo snaps and leather logo zipper flash tag. Depending on where you live, this should be a good intermediate weight three season coat roomy enough for an essential insulated vest or wool sweater during the coldest months down around freezing and slightly below for exposure time around one to two hours.

Nice jacket!
I wasn't sure if the medium would fit since I usually wear a large, but for $45 for the medium I rolled the dice and we have a winner! I guess that would mean that it fits a little large for those of you that are wondering. It really is a great looking jacket, not for the coldest temps, but with a sweatshirt or long sleeve on underneath it, as long as you're not going to be outside all day in 20 degree weather, it should keep you warm. More of a nylon feel to the outer shell, like it would repel water fairly well. The inner plaid liner just looks like cotton and not the quality I expected out of a woolrich lining, but for $45 I look gooooooood!

Happy with this...
Bittersweet review here... The jacket itself fits well, is quality, is warm for moderate temps down to 40 deg or so (unless you layer) and is money well spent if you catch it on sale. Buy it...These parkas tend to run small in the shoulders, so I got a large (I normally wear a medium) and it fits perfect.. The reason for the bittersweet, is I was looking for the Mountain Parka with wool lining, and alas, it isn't currently available. This'll have to do until the wool lined mtn parka is available once again.

Continued Disappointment
I had one of these parkas years ago, and placed my order with great anticipation. I've since sent it back. The sleeves were too short and the overall quality was not equal to that which I had in the past. I don't know what has transpired with Woolrich, but company's products seem to have become "cheapened" over time. I've owned a number of Woolrich sweaters, shirts and parkas over the last 40 years and still do. What I have purchased over the past few years, though, has been disappointing. This will be l iikely my last purchase from Woolrich

Love this jacket.
Got this on sale at a crazy good price. Perfect outer layer. Have been out in strong winds, mild rain and some snow and have stayed warm and dry.

Not the old Woolrich
Huge disappointment. Bought this to replace an old Woolrich Mountain Parka which I have been unable to find. No where near the quality. Woolrich should be ashamed to have their name on it. Very thin and quality seems to be poor. Stay away from this one.
