Great tool for engineers
Really pleased with this purchase. I find it invaluable for my hobby which requires precise measurements of diameters of turned metal bars. Product feels top quality, extremely accurate, automatically turns itself off after inactivity to save battery life. The carry case is a nice touch too, and all for a reasonable price.

Accurate, easy to use, and great value!
I bought the Kynup Digital Caliper for a few precision jobs around the workshop — mostly for woodworking and model builds — and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with it. For the price, it’s easily one of the best bits of measuring kit I’ve used in a while. The build quality is surprisingly solid. It’s made from stainless steel and feels reassuringly sturdy in the hand without being overly heavy. The slide movement is smooth and precise, and it holds its position nicely once you set it, so you’re not having to re-zero or second guess your readings. The large LCD screen is one of the standout features. It’s bright, easy to read, and gives results instantly in either mm, inches or fractions — a simple button press lets you switch units depending on what you need. As someone who works with both metric and imperial depending on the job, this flexibility is a big plus. Accuracy-wise, it’s been spot on. I’ve checked it against known reference objects and it’s come in dead accurate every time. The ability to zero the measurement at any point is also really handy when doing step measurements or internal comparisons. One small detail I really liked is the auto-off function. It saves battery life by shutting off when not in use, but switches back on quickly when you move it again. You also get a spare battery included, which is a thoughtful touch and something a lot of manufacturers overlook. It also comes with a durable plastic case that keeps the caliper protected and clean when not in use. Everything fits in snugly and it’s easy to store on a shelf or in a toolbox. Only small niggle is that it’s not waterproof, so you’ll want to avoid using it in damp or very dusty environments. That said, for general use it’s brilliant, and with a bit of care it’ll last for years. In summary, the Kynup Digital Caliper punches well above its weight. Accurate, reliable, easy to use and a great value tool that’s ideal for hobbyists, engineers, woodworkers or anyone needing precise measurements. Highly recommended!

Great little tool…
Well, on opening the cardboard sleeve and it’s blue plastic vacuum formed box you get to see it looking beautiful and shiny. There’s a couple of spare batteries, instruction manual, calliper tool and even a little screwdriver to be able to change the batteries with. The unit actually came with batteries in it which is great and providing a spare set is even better. I went for the slightly more expensive metal version as apposed to the cheaper plastic jawed one because I like to buy things that will hopefully last longer. Instruction manual is good, although it is pretty easy to understand, you can change the measuring unit via a little button, lock the device via a little top screw and it’s easy to operate the device for external, internal, depth measurements. Display was clear and easy to read and comes with off button to save its batteries. Instruction manual had a couple of mistakes in it, mentioned the locking screw was number 3 on the diagram and it’s actually number 2, (3 is the lcd display) and then also says to reset the unit by taking out the battery and it resets after 30 “secretary” which I presume should be “seconds” So it lost a star because of those mistakes, it’s the details that count. Unit feels well made, no issues with working it and hopefully it will serve us well for years to come.

Accurate and easy to use.
I wanted a simple caliper to help with my 3D print modelling to get accurate sizes for items I wanted to create. This is working perfectly for my requirements. I had seen so many that were just flimsy and felt like they would break easily, this doesn't feel like that. I feels quite sturdy. The display makes reading the size of items you are measuring really easy, especially if you have poor eyesight as the display is large enough to read. It also has the measurements on the tool itself if you prefer to use that or if the battery for the display has failed. It comes with a spare battery for the display, so this just increases the value for money. It also comes in a plastic case that can be used to protect the caliper from damage while you are not using it. On use you should just check to make sure that the starting value is 0. If it isn't reading 0 when it is fully closed then there is a button on the display to reset the 0 point. There is a second button on the caliper to switch between inches or millimeters.

Wrong measurement? Remove the battery to reset device!
I was planning on returning these as the readout was wrong and showing half measurements (ie. at 50mm the display shown 25mm) and the mm/in button to switch between measurements wasn’t working. But after removing the battery and leaving it out for 30seconds and reinserting, it reset the device and all works well. For the price they’re really good. The ‘carbon fibre’ one (pretty sure it’s plastic) feels a bit delicate but the accuracy and ease of use are great after the battery reset.

OK
They’re OK for the money if you need a rough sizing for something. My business sells plastic sheeting of various thicknesses from 0.25-6mm. These are good enough to double check you’ve got the correct plate but all measurements are slightly off. And because it’s a little flimsy you can drastically change the measurement just by pushing a bit harder. Still, if I needed more accuracy I would have paid more money so overall I’m happy enough. But I have had more accurate cheap callipers in the past.

Bad product
Not accurate at all, not with 2mm at all. Not even with 10mm... Pointless product. I owe 2 other digital calipers, so I feel I can see this is not used error at all. I might had a defective unit.
