So, firstly I have been listening to this recording for almost 50 years....I am a professional Violinist probably because of this recordingMy first copy was on Cassettes, I also own 2 different CD pressings,Also I have a Deutsche Grammophone Vinyl pressing made in Italy,now I have 2x copies of an SaCD, remastered a couple of years ago by Emil Berliner Studios,yes, you guessed, thiey came from Japan... you cannot get hires in Europe yet....But best of all, this new vinyl release (same remastered as the SaCDs is available.It is by a mile the best recorded sound of Solo Violin (and the best music and the best playing) ever.It has a magnificent ring to it,, a transparency which feels like a brand new recording and a nobility of playing that is off the chart. Of course Grumiaux and Szeryng recorded their versions... and great they are too, but this one is the very epitome of all that is good about vinyl and Deutsche Grammophone in their golden era... a towering achievement that will never be forgotten.. sounds a bit cliche, but I cannot stop listening so beautiful is the sound that reaches my ears. Milstein lives !!

Milstein plays with such spontaneity and elegance.The presentation and quality of the vinyls is exceptional. I've listened to those recordings for decades on CD - with the vinyl there are so many more nuances, the timbre of the instrument shines with layers upon layers... once you close your eyes, it feels like Milstein is standing right there, next to you.
