It right smooth I like the color and just writes good. I wish you had extra refills. I can buy separate but it’s a good pen thank you.

Great pen. Smooth writing. No blotching. No smearing. And I never feel like it is going to break in my pocket when I sit. Next to my rottring, this is probably my favorite pen.

I was looking for an inexpensive, sturdy, all metal, everyday pen. Thought I’d try this. WOW! It’s really all metal! Even the screw/threads are metal ! And made in Japan for $7 !!! I’ve used the zebra f701 off and on for years but wanted something different. The f701 is also an all metal pen which costs $7 but made in Indonesia (if the Japanese Ohto is $7 the f701 is way overpriced…should be $3). I also have used the metal Parker jotter but that’s $20, made in France and has a weak point…held together with a flimsy plastic screw insert. The Ohto might be the best all metal pen available for the price! I’ll be buying a few more.

I love this pen. It feels great to write and draw with. The ink is smooth with no skipping. Very fine line and i can watercolor over it without the ink moving.

First of all, the looks and the feel of the pen are both great. You can tell just by picking it up that it's not a cheap pen. Secondly, it's completely smear-resistant and waterproof, at least from the point of view of a right-handed writer. That said, I purchased it in hopes of finding a regular ballpoint that didn't "blob" as I wrote. While it wasn't completely perfect in that respect, it does have less pooling than the cheaper, 10-pack pens. If you're not bothered by slight instances of blobbing, you'll really enjoy this pen. [Tip: if you purchased an orange one, keep your eye on it because it's very handsome and might "disappear" on you!]

This is a difficult pen to review--much depends on preference. It is metal and feels substantial, but the knock/clicker rattles when it is depressed (but not when it is retracted!) which may worry some folks. The body is a bit on the skinny side--which a younger me would have loved, but the older me struggles with. The faceted sides look very nice and love the orange color. The tip is very functional but a little odd looking, but I like the overall aesthetic. The 0.7 refill is very, very fine--writing about as fine as my Jetstream 0.5 or Zebra Sarasa 0.5 tip so if you like broader lines you may not like it. I like fine lines so that works for me.
